Result of a close inspection by a friend who works in a body shop. Drivers side rear inner arch Same area but on passenger side. It would appear there is a small but obvious crease and the 2 sides are not matching as in the lip is missing on drivers side

Yep and no one is going to pay 2k for a potentially bent z. I'd love to have someone take it that can repair it but not at a loss, money isn't everything. But when u don't have much it is somewhat important

Exactly Jeff. Easy bits to sell will be the AP brakes, intercooler and intake, alloys, audio, private plate. And the new genuine injectors. I'd hope that alone will get me near the price I paid, maybe a few parts on eBay then get it collected

Thanks for the honest advice Jeff. And as u stated, I don't want to waste money when I have 2 little ones that I could spend the time and money with instead. As much of a ball ache as it will be to do, there are some desirable parts on it that have already had offers placed on them. So I am relatively certain I can claw back my initial outlay. Just a pain to have a split car on the drive and to have it removed. Appreciate your honest thank you

White UK 300 on eBay
Hello all. I am in need of some advice as after spending a few days poking around under the car checking for rot and signs of damage I believe I have found this cars Achilles heel. Not sure how I missed it up untill now but it would seem the rear wheels differ in how wide they are in the arch. The passenger side rear wheel sits 20mm further into the arch than the drivers side wheel. I can't see any bent arms or obvious chassis damage but I have checked and double checked. I have spoken to the only company near me with a chassis jig and just to check the chassis on it will be at least £1500. They have told me to do a cross check by measuring but wouldn't go into details and I'm not having much luck on Google. What is frustrating is that the cat C was 17 years ago, the car has covered over 50,000 miles since then and I have 2 different lots of paper work for 4 wheel alignment that's been done and the results are well within tolerances. I can't think of anything to cause this other that a bent chassis or possibly a poorly fitted rear quarter panel, and with that I am aware the radio antenna has been covered so might be a possibility. Can anyone offer any other thoughts as to why this wheel is sitting in? Lots and lots of posts on Google with similar issues even on new cars but only up to 10mm difference so something isn't right. I am keen to know how to measure the chassis as I wouldn't want to sell it without knowing my description is genuine. Worst case as was mentioned at the start of this thread it may be a breaker. But again not something I'm keen on doing if it can be avoided. Thanks all, luke

White UK 300 on eBay
Hi mate. Thanks for the advice. I am debating this, dependant on cost involved. I've spoken to jimmer, and he thinks I've got nothing to lose firstly by placing some oil in each cylinder and hand turning then engine , then if Ok, 're fit the injectors and plenum and fire it up. For peace of mind I'm pricing up a coolant flush, oil and filter change and drain the fuel and replace the fuel filter before doing so

White UK 300 on eBay
It was purchased about 10 years ago from what I've been told , at the same time as the 6 pot AP racing callipers and discs. I'd like to think he would have bought quality items going by the brake upgrade but I guess I won't know untill the bumper comes off. Fingers crossed tho - - - Updated - - - Any ideas my my images were showing but no longer?

Just looked through all the bits supplied with the car and checked against online instructions for removing the plenum. Appears to be everything here. The guy had tried the dremmel way of replacing the injectors prior to I imagine giving up and pulling it off. Also reading about the deletes, seem fairly straight forward to do. Just need to make my mind up now don't i

Alic that would be awesome thanks. As for breaking it, I wouldn't have the heart or the time to do it plus have had some terrible issues with couriers recently but won't go into that. I have a good friend who is a bmw m3 specialist, he has mentioned helping me out with regard to getting it back together, yes I know this is no m3, but he is a clever guy and won't do something if he's not 100% sure what he's doing. Am going to drag him down today for a look

Yeah I don't want to rip anyone off, along with needing to get the best price, as said it's only worth what someone is willing to pay. I don't know if it's worth me at least attempting to get the plenum on , drain the fuel and at least see how it runs, so as to be in a better position to sell it. Believe it or not I've never even been in one of these just always wanted one by the way they look, that and my brothers boss had one in the nineties and he always said how quick it was. Anyone local to biggin hill Or Lewisham that would be willing to take me for a drive in one? At least that will I'm sure make my mind up on whether to put it away untill I'm in a better position

Hi gaz thanks for an honest reply. The whole situation is really getting to me. The petrol head inside me is screaming to get it in the garage and even if it sits there for years, I'll still have it to fix up when circumstance get better. But I'm being selfish I guess, got 2 small kids and a wife to keep, it will inevitable cost me a fair bit of money to restore which could and probly should be spent on creating memories with them. I'm just really gutted, keep looking and I can picture it all done
