We had one the same size and had the same problem. Went down garden centre and came home armed with chlorine granues, testing stips and some kind of liquid that stops the green stuff!! It was fine for the rest of the summer then. Think it all cost about £30.

The HICAS is the rear wheel steering system and the fluid is the PAS pot on the left hand side of the engine bay.

If you top the water up and have it running can u see air bubbles in the water ? If you give the car a gentle rev does the water go down in the rad ?

any white smoke mist coming out of exhausts ? No sign of any water leaks anywhere ? any white gunk on oil cap or on the dipstick

how many times has it done it mate ? Is there any wetness inside the car by the centre under the dash where the transmission tunnel goes under the dash ?

is the water going down when its running or even sat still ?

Im in the same situation but I personally Im gonna get a card as he still is my step dad after nearly 20 years

does the auxillary fan come on ith the ignition ?

They just look like straight through pipes mate. Not silencers or Cats bud

clean the temp sensor on the water pipes on the front of the engine then give it a go !

Just let us know the details bud im sure we could muscle up a few lol

Sounds like ur starter mate as everyone has said ly down by the drivers front wheel and look under neath and you will see the starter on the side of the box. try pushing it back on to see if its loose. if so tighten it with a 14mm and 17mm socket /spanner and see if that helps. heres hoping for you
