The club has offered to sponsor a Christmas meet for every subscribed member in the club, the offer is £5/person. I don't want to specify a place to gather as I want as many people to take this offer up as possible. What I want to do then is to put the venue to the vote for all members, but I want/need a list of suggestions on what you would all like to do and what dates you are available so I can try and maximize attendance. So come on, let's get a big meet on for the end of the year.
  2. With top gear starting next week are we likely to see Hammond driving it?
  3. I had the same happen to me a couple of months ago some arse hole in Lithuania tried to charge a few hundred on the card, then there were several other attempts made the following day in France. fortunately the bank put a block on the card before any money was taken out. it's just irrritating having to wait a week without access to any cash. shortly after this I read in the paper that all of the local shell garages had been targetted by fraudsters copying details. a small group was arrested for it so hopefully there'll be no more problems.
  4. And no-one picked up on this comment, I can only imagine how many others there are that chose not to contest the ticket.
  5. Queen of Hearts Wimbourne Place Ashby Fields NN11 0XY England 01327 706780 Map Suggestion: Haven't visited this bar yet, any feedback by local members would be appreciated.
  6. Hi there, and welcome to the club. I don't recall ever having any meets out that way, although if anyone can suggest a decent bar around the Rugby/Northampton/Daventry sort of area I'm sure I could arrange something.
  7. Mine, although they change regularly (once a week or so)
  8. don't know why the first link isn't working but the model number on tesco direct is dv9821 (Catalogue number 204-0103) at £480 and memory is cheap enough. The other advantage with that one is it has 2 backlights so is very bright in sunlight it also has a 17" screen. I'm currently sat watching 'The long way down' on my new 27" monitor and browsing the forum on the 20"
  9. Leigh, can I recommend this but upgrade it to 3 or 4Gb of RAM as vista wasn't really designed to be efficient on only 2Gb. As for BR/HD drives I wouldn't bother yet, I'd just use a normal DVD drive and wait till BR/HD drives come down in price, the optical drives are easily replaced so that isn't an issue. Review (This review is a different model number but essentially the same)
  10. Stenson Bubble This meet is at well known venue, every month they open up a field opposite the pub for a load of car clubs and other enthusiasts. I think it's about time we showed up as a club en-mass. So get your names down for the first big mids meet for a while. 1) DCarey
  11. I seem to remember seeing a thread in the last few months that mentioned specific models that fitted in the 'bowl' of a rear 300zx seat. As for meets the next mids meet to be posted up will be at the Stenson Bubble when I can find the date of the next jap car meet.
  12. thank you, I'll have to give that a go at the weekend.
  13. this isn't a problem with my car but with a previous members car (John Garett who was killed in an accident earlier this year). His Z hasn't been driven for months and the battery is completely discharged so the central locking isn't working. I haven't seen the car myself but I am told the keys just swivel around in the locks to both doors and the boot without doing anything... Can anyone think of a way in short of smashing a window...
  14. When my car was hit I basically told the insurance company I could source the parts a lot cheaper myself than any of there affiliates could. I asked them to send me a cheque and I would handle all of the repairs myself. I faxed them quotes for parts and repair (Including some second hand parts bought from on here) and they sent a cheque covering all of it with about another £150 on top.
  15. I probably got there about 5-6ish on saturday
  16. All those pictures and I can't see my car in any of them
  17. Some good pics there Kim
  18. Has anyone got any pictures of the standard splash guard or any home made ones?
  19. Anyone else? This is tomorrow guys/gals....
  20. The factory next to the one I work at is going to be knocked down, could easily manage that, also we have liquid nitrogen stores so could get some nice ice cold vapour in the background of the shot...
  21. I don't think the number of accidents has changed at all, it's just the press latching onto it for a change.
  22. I don't think 12 should be an issue but if people are turning up late they could find themselves walking from down the road ;)
  23. Cheers for pointing that out, Date has been revised for the following week.
  24. The Boat Inn 222 Hampton Lane Catherine-de-Barnes Solihull West Midlands B91 2TJ Tel. 0121 705 0474 (Can't find a website) Apparently last time we turned up we had a complaint from the manager(ess).
