Prop Noise
had the same prob when i had mine converted ,i spent the next three months trying to track the prob changed the bearing ,gearbox mount etc no joy, finallly bought a one piece from zi in usa, fitted it myself in 3 hours, and eversince its been great,no problems, the problem with mine was the people who fitted the manual put two differant halves of prop together so they were not balanced.

1 piece prop
Hi Guys and gals, just wanted to tell you guys that i've just fitted a one piece light weight prop this morning, took me 3 hours not to bad i thought, well the differance is amazing,i've had a vibration thru my seat for ages, and after changing the gearbox mount, the center bearing, hicas ball joint, new tires, and balancing,4 wheel alignment ,the problem was still there,so the last thing was prop balancing, well by the time you get someone to do it with the balancing it was£300,so i thought i may as well get a 1 piece from the states and with all the postage and extra because it was'nt exchange it still was only£289.so fitted it myself this morning and now it runs silky smooth and no more bearings to worry about yipee! the feels and drives great iam so happy.

maf?
cheers andy i looked at the plugs and they didnt seem wet but will check again and crank the engine,if the maf has flooded the engine does it mean the maf is nackered and so needs replacing, cheers Ian

maf?
i dont think its the gasket because it didnt overheat enough to make the temp gauge go up and when we drove it home it would run fine then it would loose power so you would have to drop it down a gear then it would pick up ok,then this morning i went out to start it up and it started first time but then just died after ten seconds and now wont start again, it,s got a metal 1.2mm gasket in it so pretty strong?

maf?
Hi guys i was wondering if you could help me with a problem that is not for a 300zx,i know it's a bit of a cheak but my son has a 200sx and it slightly overheated the other day due to him fitting a greddy breather tank wrongly thus mucking up the circulation ,anyway steam was coming out of the expansion tant right next to his blitz induction filter, now the car will not fire up,iv'e checked that fuel is getting past the filter, and iv'e checked that there is a spark at the plugs, could the steam have mucked up the maf, thus screwing with the fueling?any ideas would be much appriciated,i was going to buy a second hand maf and try that but wondered if you had any thoughts cheers guys i know it,s not a Z but it is his little brother, anyway you guys are so bloody clever that i thought if you lot dont know who will LOL.

Bov,s/dump Valves
hi mate two differant names for the same thing, yes they will work on an auto but it's best to take out the recirc's and block them off ,otherwise you have two systems doing the same job,you can run both but you wont hear the bov's ,on an auto they will never sound as good as a manual as you will only hear them when you are reving quite hard then let off,as opposed to a manual, you will here the bov's when you change gear.had them on my auto, took them off and went back to recirc's,this was after i did an auto/manual conversion as the bov's caused my car to stall alot ,can sometimes happen with bov's ,anyway unless you are running over 400bhp,there is no benefit, unless you just like the sound cheers

almost giving up
thought the one piece props came pre balanced?
-
almost giving up
as i said have just fitted a new bearing,so cant be that,do you think it unlikely the prop needs balancing,as i cant think of anything else somebody said that sometimes the uj's in the drive shafts can give vibration but mike at mjp said they very rarely go,so i am stumped ,if the prop has been put back on and not alighned ,if i had the prop balanced would that sort it?the thiong is iv'e spent £8000 on the car in a year and thats not with buying it ,i cant seem to cure this simple problem.the joys of zedding.lol

almost giving up
your new one piece vibrates! dont think i will go that route then, zen garage did the prop bearing so would have thought Martyn would know about the spacers.
-
almost giving up
had auto/manual conversion done would have thought they would have sorted that

almost giving up
no it only comes thru the seat

almost giving up
Hi guys i am almost at the point of giving up and driving it over a cliff! not really cause i love the bugger to bit's but it is driving me crazy, the problem is iv'e had a vibration thru my seat ever since i bought the car a year ago and i have been trying to fix it ever since,so far iv'e replaced the prop bearing, the gearbox mount, had zen garage check the uj's all good, had all the wheels balanced about 4 times, then finally thought it might be cheep tyres, so today had a full set of toyo's fitted and balanced again ,still there!!!!!had new hicas arms and hicas ball joints, the only thing i hav'nt done is prop balancing.is it likely to be that as iam a bit fed up with throwing money at the car and it's still the same even though i suppose iv'e got lots of new bits on her,had all the bushes and everything checked and everything seems fine, any idea's? thought of a one piece prop, but again be nice to know if that was the problem first before burning more dosh lol.cheers guys

need resister
so do you guys think i will notice the differance, only after spending a fortune on an auto/manual conversion, lightened flywheel, uprated clutch, blitz induction, etc, etc, only i thought i was going mad as it seemed so slow, this being explained by being in safety boost,LOL.
-
need resister
