  1. Thanks. Bodywork is super shoddy, so saving up for a re-spray next year. It been like trigger's brush this motor! Replaced like every part. Low mileage randomly though, so hopfully worth it..the figures tie up with MOT and DVLA checks..at just under 13,000miles!! :phone:
  2. Hi! Thanks, but I sourced a genuine one from Australia, and had to wait AGES for it to come, got charged £20 for import tax AND flipping' got caught speeding on the way to the post office! Running smooth now at least. - - - Updated - - - Aye, twas me. I met up with Dan with the red Z who was looking for you I believe.
  3. Well, after almost a year after acquiring my first Z and trying desperately to get her on the road, she's all MOT'd, taxed and insured and I made my first show last night..Jap Night at Squires Cafe (Leeds). It's been an emotional roller coaster with seized engines (TT conversion done courtesy of Lee Dent), and drilling out and re-welding panels to name but a few, so such a chuffin' relief to get there! The journey is still not over (obviously, it's a 20odd year old car!), but from what I can tell, the work needed in the foreseeable will be more manageable. Look forward to meeting a few of you at future meets..who's off to the Yorkshire Breakfast in Malton out of interest? Peace out
  4. Spotted a nice black Z today with an interesting nose panel in heading from Beford East Yorkshire heading across the A165 into Skipsea. Number plate might have said "Gaz" or something similar. Was it you? My rents have a caravan there and my Z is due back on the road next week and I'll def be visiting in it!

Hi, Z32 engine needed please. TT prefered, but would take an NA. It would need to be a runner, I have a compression tester if needs be. If you could fit it for me, even better, if not I'm awaiting a few labour prices back. I'm in the Bradford area, but I'm willing to arrange carriage from anywhere in the UK really. Cheers, Matt.
  6. Hi all, I picked up a 1990 Z32 na cheap as chips knowing it had a few problems. The engine won't manually crank because an intake exhaust valve has broken off and is inside the top left cylinder (I've had a camera down there) Baz has kindly given me a good price to deliver a new na engine..because I guess this route would be the best? Does anyone know of a reliable garage in West Yorkshire who could do the swop at a fair price? I've been messed around by a few garaged now, but a guy from a local garage is supposed to be coming round to quote on Thursday. I'd appreciate any recommendations. Thanks, Matt
  7. I once heard insurance companies would write off older cars if they couldn't easily get new screens?
  8. Hey Cozza, You sort this in the end? I'm going to need mine swopping at some point. Matt.
  9. Lol. It's just a matter of doing an hour or so when I have time. So pleased it's ready to weld up though now! Hoping to get it fired up by the end of the month :)
  10. Reet boys. Front end from Baz, is dismantled, along with my front end. For the record, drilling out spot welds is a right pain in the proverbial!! We've been practicing welding, and are getting more confident, may even get chance to start welding the subframe back on Sunday! ...crazy, because I still don't know if she runs!! :) I want the subframe etc all back together so the rad actually has somewhere to sit!! Then of course, coolant flush and re-connect everything ..so.... I can finally turn that Z key!!! :)
  11. Yep, received mine OK, cheers mate, well chuffed!!! :)
  12. Yep, ac rad was all dented so had to go. Tar guys & likewise Baz. Hope to meet you at one of these future meets..perhaps even in a working Z!
  13. Well, quick update to say I'm well on with stripping down the front end..perhaps I should start a build thread? Think anyone would be interested? Anyway, since the ac pipes and rad were a bit bent, I started to delete and quickly found it hadn't already lost gas...sorry ozone layer!! :(. I've emptied the coolant (which soo needed replacing anyway) and removed the rad and some ac pipes, and started on the compressor. Big thanks to Baz who gave me a good deal on all the bits I thought I needed, top notch guy! Thank you all for your advise so far, I've been using the forum search as much as poss so as not to annoy! Tonight I've ordered an apexi air filter and new maf, since the old ones were damaged..along with some temperature sensors, as these had had it too. Need to order the cambelt, alternator belt, tensioners, and thermostat and TT rad convertor next I suppose..sigh and I said I wouldn't spend a fortune on this lol. Just waiting on a guy around the corner who's a professional welder to get back to me. Frustrating times, because I need him to do his bit of tinkering before I can get the viscous fan, mishimoto rad, & new pipes etc back on, to see if the thing runs!!! :).
  14. So my front end is stripped and I'm toying with giving a Supeed TT radiator a try, at first I thought they sounded cr*p but apparently they do oem for some of the big brands?! I've never heard of these, but wondered if anyone else has an opinion on them? http://pages.ebay.com/link/?nav=item.view&id=181818142973&alt=web Apparently it's 40% more efficient at cooling than stock?! http://www.supeedmotor.com/index.php/goods/productsinfo/pid/6076/id/3306/province/-1#
  15. Thanks Groover, looking forward to seeing how your swop goes! As for me, will leave the anti roll bars etc for now as I think they're ok. Was just thinking of radiators and bumpers mainly.. things that are already broke and need replacing, which would then be ready for an engine swop perhaps one day.
  16. Might be going to Jap Fest aye, but hoping to get it sorted before then, so might leave it..thank you though! Think I'll look for an aluminium TT radiator, and TT bumper going on this advice. Cheers all!!
  17. Really informative, thanks guys! Will take you up on that thanks Ted.
