Thats one clean engine bay, a long way to go! The rad and plumbing have been ripped out to make way for new thermostat and new, black silicone piping. Reinstalling the rad/fan for now just to get it to the local MOT station and see what else it requires. I will get a decent rad/efan and thermo switch at some point. I just want to get it road worthy and get a feel for it until we move and do some serious work on it. For now it will be bits and bobs like discs/pads, air filter, oil and filter change etc. Need to rewire fog light/reverse lights to get through MOT aswell. RED LED bulb on order. Odometer wasn't working and it's because the KPH/MPH converter that was butchered in..cough cough has disconnected. To be honest I will start a build thread/story for it at some point- seems very cheap
Rad hoses were not on the wrong way around, it was an array of household plumbing :cowboy:- seems very cheap
I bought it, as a do'er up'er ;)- First cars
A D reg (1986) AUSTIN MINI 1000 CITY E in BEIGE and had a drivers side brown door :cool2: It cost me £95 to buy and £998 to insure it! I sold it for £350 after a respray and some other bits. One of two cars I regret selling.- Nissan 300zx Manua/Auto TT
Just advertising my interest in buying a Nissan 300zx Manual or Auto TT. I'm not fussy on the SWB/LWB, or the colour. Not looking to pay more than £2000 for one, and yes I am not expecting a lot for this sort of money! I intend to spend a lot more on it as a rolling project. I own a Seat Leon Cupra R 05 plate with 86k on it and remapped to 280bhp. Body work is a lot to be desired (trolley dings, and car park T**ts) but has had a lot of money spent on upgrades, and maintenance. I'm mentioning this because there may be a deal to be done if someone is interested. If you are, I can provide pics. Otherwise I will just sell it separately, and put towards a less project-like Z. I at least hope the 300zx is drivable to recover. If it is, I will travel far for it. If it is not, I can arrange collection if it isn't TOO far away. Unless delivery can be arranged? Thanks for reading :)- Introduction
I think you missed the bit at the top where I said I have a Mini. Not fussed about whether it has rust or not, I've already dealt with a decent amount on the Mini which is now virtually rust free. Obviously a Z is about twice the size! I would expect any for sale would have a fair amount given its age, especially on an abandoned Z.- Introduction
Hmm, perhaps a little too loose ;) My email address is stupot_1982@hotmail.com What kind of money were you expecting for this? Looking at the initial picture it's out of my price range!- Introduction
Am I right in thinking you would part with said tatty barn find, or are you on a similar build agenda? ;) there's nowt on ebay that's for sure! Thanks for the welcomes chaps- Introduction
Hi all. Just thought i would introduce myself on the forum. I may be spending a long time on here in the near future! Haven't managed to obtain a 300zx as yet, but it's very close to happening. I have to sell a few things first. I currently have a half restored classic mini, and a Seat Leon Cupra r (daily). I'm also in the process of preparing my house to sell and move on to somewhere more suited ( a garage is my deal breaker, wife wants a conservatory). A 300zx had been a child hood dream car of mine, and I still think they are awesome. I'm going to buy cheap (ish) and think big power figures once the chassis has been taken care of. Currently weighing up either a cheap N/A and convert or make it easier on myself by spending more on a TT. Checking out UK companies to supply me with parts and how difficult/easy parts will be to obtain for particular models. Obviously depends on what comes up at the time! I certainly won't be spending ££££'s, a tatty barn find would be preferable ;) Thanks for reading, hoping for a swift turn around and get started! Stu - seems very cheap
