i feel for you mate when i passed my test at 17 i had a 2.8 V6 MKIII Capri and they were asking £5K+. I got trade in the end and didnt have to pay. I suggest doing pass plus which will reduce insurance some, mabey joining the IAM might be worth while. i hope some of that helped. Leight
