  1. Sensor/electrical faults are so annoying.... U feel like most of its guess work! Like I said, I don't think its a major problem, its just figuring it out:confused1:
  2. That sounds ace Ian. I think I'm still gonna try and get to 3 sisters this Sunday as well so maybe catch up more on it then? What time you heading down?
  3. Got the replacement PTU today so, I started the car up and then let it cut itself out. Then switched it for the new one... car wouldn't start. Guess its not the PTU:( So frustrating... it idled so nicely when I first started it up. Lead me into a false sense of security, so I backed the car out of the drive and drove to the end of my street.... then it decided to cut out. Had the neighbours helping me to push it back. Any other ideas? Still not tried a MAF and another idea I had was the temp sensor? The engine fan comes on as soon as I start the car.... should it?
  4. On other drivers has anyone seen this video? Chapter 2 is especially funny........
  5. will do, I do still believe its a good Zed. I don't think its anything too serious.... just difficult to figure out. I'll keep updates on this thread anyway and hopefully the new ptu or the maf will resolve this issue.
  6. I've got a working s1 ptu on its way from Mondo. In the meantime I was really thinking it was something to do with damp getting to the ecu (as the car warmed up the damp rises I to the ecu etc) I suppose its good that I have got that sorted anyway... it was pretty bad. Just starting to get down about it now though.... just had nothing but problems so far. Just wanna start enjoying the car now:( Ian mentioned earlier about trying his spare MAF aswell. Other than that, the other thing that I keep thinking about is could it be a fuel issue? I picked it up from Lee Dent on Sat and filled it up with Esso's premium fuel - never used this before as I've always used Shells V-power.
  7. No idea y that doubled up then!
  8. Oh yes... just reread the original post... Mine wasn't under braking, just when driving at 60mph. If I went over 60mph then it went away and nothing before I hit 60mph. I'd probably agree with the warped disk. - - - Updated - - - Oh yes... just reread the original post... Mine wasn't under braking, just when driving at 60mph. 9. I must admit, I didn't think he was gonna be too good when he started F1 but I have been proven wrong. I think the kid has a bright future in F1:thumbup1:
  10. I had the same thing, turns out I only had 1 spigot ring in the front passenger wheel! So, fitted some in all wheels and it is a lot better however I do still have a slight shake through the steering wheel at exactly 60mph.... I suspect the wheels now just need balancing though.
  11. Just an update, everything seemed dry so I started it up. Left it running and sure enough 5-10mins later it started missing something and then cut out. Won't start up again now.
  12. This may not be related but, should the engine fan come on when started cold?
  13. Yes, it defo needed doing.... Was a horrible job but it was absolutely drenched. At least I've now got a dry not working zed, rather than a soggy not working zed
  14. Ye ok, what night are you thinking? I usually get home from work at about 6. I was on a half day today which is why I've been messing with it again lol
  15. Do you mind? Don't want to be a pain for you mate... Are you local?
  16. If you don't mind Ian, that would be a big help. They are quite pricey to just guess if its one of the culprits and I'm starting to spend alot of money on mine now:( Do you just basically switch them?
  17. Ah ok, thanks. Is the best place to get a new one directly from Nissan or can I get one cheaper somewhere?
  18. Are these the Chinese ones? They come with a 12 month warranty aswell from the UK?
  19. ye good point, was gonna give everything a quick spray and clean with WD40 anyway. Hopefully it should be all ok after that. I've also seen these MAF's on ebay, was thinking of maybe changing mine aswell just to make sure thats ok.... does this look ok do you think? http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/151195447377?ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&fromMakeTrack=true#ht_3396wt_1141 Also, is there anything else I need to do when replacing the MAF or is it just plug out and plug in?
  20. Looks good mate, really like it! Well done on the COTM aswell:thumbup1:
  21. So, I checked the passenger side targa drain pipe last night and guess what....... it wasn't connected! So after lots of fiddling about I managed to reconnect it and I've tied a cable tie to it to hold for the future. What a pain of a job. Tonight I just need to continue to dry it out and reconnect everything. Think I'll stick my dehumidifier in the car for a few hours to really get it dried out before I give it a try. Fingers crossed:hyper: I'll also check the MAF tonight, didn't get round to it last night. The front wing and footwell was swimming in water. I brought all the ecu's into the house to dry out (hopefully theres no lasting damage to them!)
  22. I may do, I'm not far from there. I'll see how I get on this week:) Would be good to get down for a bit if I could and put names to faces. Also to see some working Zeds!
  23. If the ecu has got wet, should it be ok once its dried out or will I need a new ecu?
  24. Just a quick one.... if nothing changes when its unplugged I take it its faulty..... sorry if thats a daft question. Just wondering what it should do when disconnected?
