Are these any good?
Just seen this on ebay and wondered if anyone had used one to diagnose any faults and if it was any good? http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Consult-Auto-Car-Vehicle-Diagnostic-Interface-14-pin-Code-Scanner-for-Nissan-UK-/291108006808?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_3&hash=item43c763ab98

JDM North Track Attack 7th June
Cool, me too.... I can come down for a couple of hours, see you there:)
-
Another issue:(
Like I keep mentioning.... is it right that the fan is on when I start it up from cold? Not had the car for long and just doesn't seem normal?
-
Another issue:(
Also, when started it up.... I unplugged the MAF, it cut out straight away (is that what its supposed to do?)

JDM North Track Attack 7th June
Good stuff... what time are you all heading down there. I think I'll probably pop down in the Vectra if your all down there in the morning?
-
Another issue:(
Checked it today.... did it twice actually to make sure. 1st time - code 12 - air flow meter circuit 2nd time - code 55 - No malfunctions in the above...... however it still wouldn't start? I'm kind of think temp coolant sensor?
-
Another issue:(
Tried that, still won't start?
-
Another issue:(
Sensor/electrical faults are so annoying.... U feel like most of its guess work! Like I said, I don't think its a major problem, its just figuring it out:confused1:
-
Another issue:(
That sounds ace Ian. I think I'm still gonna try and get to 3 sisters this Sunday as well so maybe catch up more on it then? What time you heading down?

Another issue:(
Got the replacement PTU today so, I started the car up and then let it cut itself out. Then switched it for the new one... car wouldn't start. Guess its not the PTU:( So frustrating... it idled so nicely when I first started it up. Lead me into a false sense of security, so I backed the car out of the drive and drove to the end of my street.... then it decided to cut out. Had the neighbours helping me to push it back. Any other ideas? Still not tried a MAF and another idea I had was the temp sensor? The engine fan comes on as soon as I start the car.... should it?

Taking the old man for a drive..Verstappen Style!
On other drivers has anyone seen this video? Chapter 2 is especially funny........

Another issue:(
will do, I do still believe its a good Zed. I don't think its anything too serious.... just difficult to figure out. I'll keep updates on this thread anyway and hopefully the new ptu or the maf will resolve this issue.

Another issue:(
I've got a working s1 ptu on its way from Mondo. In the meantime I was really thinking it was something to do with damp getting to the ecu (as the car warmed up the damp rises I to the ecu etc) I suppose its good that I have got that sorted anyway... it was pretty bad. Just starting to get down about it now though.... just had nothing but problems so far. Just wanna start enjoying the car now:( Ian mentioned earlier about trying his spare MAF aswell. Other than that, the other thing that I keep thinking about is could it be a fuel issue? I picked it up from Lee Dent on Sat and filled it up with Esso's premium fuel - never used this before as I've always used Shells V-power.

Steering wheel shake
No idea y that doubled up then!

Steering wheel shake
Oh yes... just reread the original post... Mine wasn't under braking, just when driving at 60mph. If I went over 60mph then it went away and nothing before I hit 60mph. I'd probably agree with the warped disk. - - - Updated - - - Oh yes... just reread the original post... Mine wasn't under braking, just when driving at 60mph. I must admit, I didn't think he was gonna be too good when he started F1 but I have been proven wrong. I think the kid has a bright future in F1:thumbup1:

Steering wheel shake
I had the same thing, turns out I only had 1 spigot ring in the front passenger wheel! So, fitted some in all wheels and it is a lot better however I do still have a slight shake through the steering wheel at exactly 60mph.... I suspect the wheels now just need balancing though.

Another issue:(
Just an update, everything seemed dry so I started it up. Left it running and sure enough 5-10mins later it started missing something and then cut out. Won't start up again now.
-
Another issue:(
This may not be related but, should the engine fan come on when started cold?
-
Another issue:(
Yes, it defo needed doing.... Was a horrible job but it was absolutely drenched. At least I've now got a dry not working zed, rather than a soggy not working zed
-
Another issue:(
Ye ok, what night are you thinking? I usually get home from work at about 6. I was on a half day today which is why I've been messing with it again lol
-
Another issue:(
Do you mind? Don't want to be a pain for you mate... Are you local?
-
Another issue:(
If you don't mind Ian, that would be a big help. They are quite pricey to just guess if its one of the culprits and I'm starting to spend alot of money on mine now:( Do you just basically switch them?
