  1. Hey, Thanks! ? it is, and the vent comes out right by the fan area so doesn't leak in to anything important. Thank you Richard ? Think I can now move from introduction topic to build thread, initial work done and she is ready to hit the streets agian!
  2. Hey Andrew, PM sent ? Hey Gaz, PM sent ? Thank you for the warm welcome! Impressed to see a forum so active (Just in time as I limited FB use to 5min a day :D) Spent the whole day today to get her clean again. I did a professional 1to1 course with AutoBriteDirect 6 years ago so know my way around a polishing machine and trying to bring back the black mirror effect (only managed to do a 2 stage for the front but not pictured as it got dark. considering potentially spending some serious time polishing+ waxing before I start using it ?) . Feel free to ask if you need any suggestions in this field ? Guess I need to start a separate build thread soon, want to get the bodywork back to my standard and take some good pics first though
  3. Hey Arthur, Rectors Way Garage in Weston-Super-Mare. I will write a post about it separately as Mat has restored the 3rd car for me now ? He previously worked on my crx and rx7 and was the only one in the country that could make the twin turbo work on the rx7 instead of suggesting to go single like most specialists do. (He not only made it work, all solenoids were relocated to a easy to reach rail+ everything was uprated and renewed). He's done all the main work for me now, and I will take care of all the small niggles- which I'm starting on today :>>> I used to have a variety of cars and rx7 was my daily at one point, there is always an audi a3 tdi lurking when I need 65mpg or very dirty jobs, otherwise I do hope 300 will be a nice daily ? Thanks man! I already got the boot struts from you but might need a few small extra bits, and I'm definitely up for shows in the upcoming months! ? Hey Gaz! Thank you Just a quick 'part list' -AP Racing front brakes -Tein suspension -HICAS delete -Stillen bumper (That might go in the future to be replaced with facelift?!?!) -Wierd bonnet grill (coming off today to be replaced with OEM) -Custom bonnet -WingsWest side skirts -Big ol spoiler -Stock interior (Just got a refurbished steering wheel from one of the members here) -Nismo 615cc injectors with the fancy rail -Z1 intake pipes -Powdercoated intake manifold -New style PTU -Chipped ECU (Looking forward for Conzult to make sure I'm happy with the chip)
  4. Hello from another late night new joiner ? That looks epic! Like the cheeky undercover toy on the right too, my post has something similar, sadly I sold the Supra now and only kept the ZX and E34 See you around ?
  5. Hey all, My name is Dimitry from Southampton, and I thought I'd spend a minute to finally introduce myself. I've had quite a selection of cars over the years and this is currently my 3rd Z32 (I had 3x 350z and even a 260z RHD! ? ). She is a 1993 TT JDM Import Manual LWB Targa top... Had the car for 4 years but sadly at the start of the ownership I also had a rx7 and a 600bhp Supra so 300 was almost unused. I finally had a huge service done to it and it's back on the road, hoping to resolve further minor issues and use it a lot more through 2021 as I've sold the others now and need a nice daily ? I'm a Project Engineer in the medical industry by trade but cars are a big passion, so is 3D printing (looking forward to 3d print custom parts for the ZX!!) Cable on the way from Australia and ConZult free version downloaded for now, but thinking to upgrade to a full version just so I have all the functionality to make sure the car is running sweet. I won't go in to detail about the car here as even the recent work would be a page long ? Hope to see you around! p.s- Add me on Instagram if you use it?!?! IndividualMotors
  6. oh wow what a friendly forum, haven't seen one this good in years :) I purchased the ZX a month ago (agreed on a deal for it a year and a half ago but we decided to buy a house, moved in, I resaved again and messaged the seller. He still had it tucked away in his garage and agreed to sell :) ) I've brought it back from Peak district to Southampton, but it has been standing for the time being as I need to sell my Z3 3.0 to start enjoying the ZX. I currently own a mk2 CRX iVT which I'm fully restoring (got full suspension to go on it, nuts and bolts form honda too! :) ) Mazda RX7 which is my baby and I'm slowly restoring it bit by bit and using almost daily And of course the fairest of them all, the Z. The boot has been taken apart to install a camera and double din touch screen but I think I will buy the original single din and build everything close to original. Does anyone have any recommendations for rear speakers? They've been taken out and I don't want to cut anything so want either a pair of original ones again or some replacement but heard they are an interesting size. The front of the car looks like this: Are any of the parts special? I do like it but I think I would prefer simple facelift style, yet it would be a shame as the car has new paintwork. Also I've noticed some NISMO 300km clocks, in the rx-7 world all the 300km are worth a bomb, but after having a set myself now I'm not too keen as when they are converted to mph the dial becomes too small and the time it takes to go over the speed limit is close to none :) Thanks for the warm welcome and I'm looking forward spending some time with the Z, will look in to the membership to the forum too.
  7. Hi all, I've joined the forum a number of years ago looking for a 300zx and last Christmas I finally got one. I'ts a lovely looked after 1992 Twin turbo manual from a gent that spent a huge amount of time and money+ kept it garaged. The car has been fully under sealed and resprayed to maintain it's beauty. Here she is: Soon I will be looking for a few bits to bring it back to standard, will start off with small things like oem colour dash bulbs (mine are blue led which I really don't like), stock steering wheel as I've got an aftermarket and some speakers for the back as they've been taken out :) Looking forward to the forum and possible future events! Thanks Dimitry
  8. 400-500 for the belt with a new tensioner etc... good price? Japtech southampton
  9. Ok had a closer look today, Seems like the belt is loose as hell... Watch "300zx loose belt" on YouTube - 300zx loose belt: http://youtu.be/mohiCeGI2PE Needs a new belt with all of the tensioners?? Who would you recommend in southampton??
  10. would this cause any damage? and can you replace the hydraulic tensioner without removing the belt? thinking this is the same guy we bought the car from, and the same problem he go rid of somehow for 2 months http://www.300zx.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?175064-Help-please-engine-making-tappety-noise-(&p=1798707#post1798707
  11. Hi all, My friend has bought a 300zx JDM 3.0 N/A manual, and in less than a week the car struggles to start and seems to make a nasty sound from under the belt covers (i think on exhaust cam sides) Seen a video online where the belt was shaking and jumping causing it to do so... could that be the reason?? What can be done? what could it be? how much would it cost? and who would you recommend in southampton? Any advice would be more than appreciated!
