porsche 911 speed
I can't stand comments like this. The Boxster is an excellent car and not just driven by posers. It is also not a poors mans 911. Anyone who thinks so has never driven one.

Porsches don't have limiters. BMW's, Mercs and Audis do but not Porsches.

Are computer games getting easier?
Games easier? I prefer to think that i'm getting better! :D The biggest difference is that these days you can save most games whenever you want where as a few years ago you could only save them at the end of the level. PS. I am currently doing Medal of honour allied assault spearhead and it is brilliant....The graphics might not be as good as later games but the actual game play is superb!!

Thanks for all the advice guys
I just thought I would say cheers for all the advice in the last thread I started that has been closed. I have made up my mind that when I have the cash I will be buying a manual TT and it will be my daily driver, Now all i have to do is wait and hope my other half gets a permanent contract soon.........

Ok, so just how unreliable are these cars....
Well based on 10K a year, 20mpg and 95p litre for optimax it works out at £180 a month which aint too bad. I spend £150 - £200 running my 328 which has been our only car. However my wife is learning to drive and I have just bought her a Ford Focus which means that my next car will do less miles than the BM which has done 32k in the last 2 years.

Ok, so just how unreliable are these cars....
I am prepeared for it to cost more to maintain than a Mondeo, I currently put aside £100 a month to cover the maintenence, tyres and tax on my 328. As well as this I would also hang onto the cash from the sale of the BMW, which will be around £2K, just incase of any major problems. My biggest concern is that it will be used every day and will have to do at least 10k a year. Am I mad for considering a car like a TT Z for daily use?

Ok, so just how unreliable are these cars....
I was kind of thinking that myself.....Sounds like the problem was with the last owner not the car :)

Ok, so just how unreliable are these cars....
I have been visiting the forum over the last month or so to get an idea of running costs and potential problems that 300 owners experience. The problem as far as I can see is that a lot of you guys seem to be spending a lot of cash keeping your cars on the road. I am getting the impression that these cars are not really very reliable and when they do go wrong you need to sell an organ to pay the bill. Is this a fair assesment? Are there any owners out there who have had no problems and only had to pay for routine servicing? I love the way the Z looks and I love the idea of a 280 BHP TT V6 but I don't really want to buy a car that turns into a millstone round my neck. :(

Just out of interest do induction kits give any gain in power?

Insurance Difference - 200sx v 300zx
Wow! maybe it's because the 300zx is more difficult to steal? or perhaps they just pay out a lot more claims for 200s than 300s

How easy is it to find a Uk car?
The only thing really putting me off at the moment is the fuel consumption. I can cope with high maintenance costs and expensive parts. Insurance isn't a problem. It's just 18mpg is really going to pi55 me off every time I have to fill up. Also with petrol prices not looking like they are going anywhere other than further up at the moment do I really want to be spending £250 a month on optimax...... The sensible person inside me is saying that I should go for a 200sx. For the same cash I could get a much newer car, still with plenty of tuning potential, much easier to get a UK car and with servicing cost and mog a bit more down to earth.

How easy is it to find a Uk car?
How much? how many miles? any pictures? I need to wait a couple of months before I go spending cash. My wife has just started a new job and has to work a probation period beofre being given a permanent contract. Until then I aint spending a penny, just in case.

How easy is it to find a Uk car?
That's the trouble I had when looking for my 328. There is nothing worse than driving 100miles to look at a so called mint car only to find that it's a heap.

How easy is it to find a Uk car?
Legrath, thanks for the info. I'm not 100% decided yet. The 300zx is on the shortlist along with E36 BMW M3, Skyline (single turbo, RWD) and Porsche 944 S2/Turbo. I'm still saving so I have a few months to make my decision.

Tech spech
Hey Rovers weren't that bad. Ok so they weren't the coolest cars in the world and build quality isn't that good but I have been in a few and there are much worse cars out there. My mate had an MG ZS180 and it was a genuinely fun car to drive. The kind of car you could grab by the scuff of the neck and really throw around.

Insurance Difference - 200sx v 300zx
Good point. I can't believe any one would fork out £3K to insure a car!! Maybe if it's a an F360 or a 911 turbo and money was no issue. I thought the 300 TT was in group 18 not 20?

How easy is it to find a Uk car?
The history issue is what bothers me the most. Just looking at issues raised on the forum over the last few weeks leads me to the conclusion that these cars can work out very expensive if you don't buy one that's been looked after. The other thing is jap imports all tend to be modified. Now don't get me wrong I don't have anything against a few tastefull mods but insurers might do. Also I had heard that jap cars are limited to 112mph, are not undersealed and things like brakes tend to be lower spec then the equivalent UK car.
