Just got a new expansion tank for my 300 and it's quite dirty as you can see from the picture. I have tried cleaning it with washing up liquid and warm water and soaking it but didn't really work then tried washing powder and warm water and letting it soak overnight lifted some of the dirt and grime but still could be better so I’m asking if any of you know any little tips or trick's to get it looking like new?

Thanks for the replies! I got home from work and started my car up from cold and let it sit there for around 10/15 mins but got no "roar" from the fan the engine did warm up but the fan sounded the same the whole time, so am i right in guessing that there is something wrong with it ?

Once the car has been on a drive and is at running temperature if I turn the engine off whilst still warm the viscous fan can still easily be moved/ turned, I've been told this isn't right and it should be stiff to try turn with a warm engine, is this right? if so do I just get a new viscous fan to fix this? I've also been recommended to get an electric fan but I've done some searching and there seams to be mixed opinions about these, I just wondered what you guys would recommend as im new to all this and you all have the knowledge and experience on these machines. Also to be a pain, mine has some idling problems (not hunting) to describe it I would say it idles right on tick over at about 1000 rpm but then out of no where it will drop to 500ish and sound like its about to cut out then sort its self out and go back to where it should be. any ideas thanks :)

Currently doing the timing belt and waiting for some parts on mine, so whilst im waiting with help from a friend today I went about doing the air vacuum pipe's with silicone hoses. So from this- to this- quite fiddly work but will be worth it !

It sure is blue, you have more than likely seen the previous owner in it with his drums as he use to go to bath area in it to do some gigs, I haven't been out in it that much as I got it at the start of December and its been rubbish weather and some of the belts need replacing which im currently sorting out. A friend of mine has said there some others in melksham.

I have tried the search function but cant find what im looking for. Being completely new to nissan 300zx I have no idea what im doing but I just brought my jap import car and it had a KBTV speedo converter/ delimiter with mph dials everything is working fine bar the speedo, it work's but seams to be just over double what im actually doing the needle hasn't been played with the previous owner just said it has stopped reading mph and has gone back to kph. I've tried to email kbtv for some help but they just said I make no sense and that if it was the converter/ chip then neither the speedo or rev gage would be working. Could anyone help me or point me in the right direction? I would be very great full!

thanks for the welcome, might had seen it on eBay he did advertise it on a few site's. Was looking at the membership and had seen lwb and swb i'm guessing that's short and long wheel base? if so as I'm completely new to this and sorry for the possible dumb question but how do i know if mines swb and lwb I have tried Google but that just throws up a load of useless rubbsih.

Hello, I'm ash a new owner from the south west, and new to the 300zx world. Have just purchased a 1990 twin turbo automatic, imported from Japan in 2003. I have some pictures after I had just given it a good clean.
