Hi Kev, Pot 6 has zero compression so either the rings are shot or the piston is belly up. Which ever it is it means the engine has to come out. So im waiting on Paul getting back from his honeymoon to start the engine rebuild.

Was it you in a red Zed (most of the zeds in cornwall are red) who went past me going out of Penzance on the dual carriage way past the heliport by Maccy Dee's in hot pursuit or a Yellow motorbike ? I was not in my zed but a blue ickle nissan 100nx (a zed that shrank in the rain) LOL.

they are different, I bought a front and rear stud recently, the rear one has an 'R' on the head and the locating grooves are at a different pitch. HTH. Pete

As far as I am aware there is no intermediate phase, it either works or its busted, if its busted then like nzniggles says, you wont get it to rev over 2500 rpm. HTH

Doesnt look like i will be able to make this one now. On my way from home (cornwall) to bristol, zed started missing & loads of blue smoke out the back, i pulled over & popped the bnnet, dipstick had blown out. So im in a layby on bodmin moor waiting for a recovery truck
