  1. I'm applying for a job in Didcot and have a very high chance of getting it. Considering moving there. I do like the area as I've spent a lot of time in and around Oxford. Just wondering who's from the area. Ta

Should read 29,997 but I think you've gone one 9 too far! LOL
  3. ...but hey, we all have different tastes, in much the same way as I hate lambo doors, razor blade spoilers, neons, ungainly bodykits etc, there's someone that doesn't and hates to see the more stock examples. For me, with all the above types of cars, as much as I dislike them, it makes it nicer to see tidy more original looking examples. Go over on the US forums and they are very much purists. Some lovely examples over there.
  4. BOUGHT Grrrrrrrrrrr lol
  5. It's still ugly though. I've told people to their faces that I don't like such and such. Doesn't bother me. People have to me too and said they don't like this that and the other on my car and some have even said they hate Zeds. It's all opinion and some people get worked up about others'. The 400bhp claim is amusing and that's why people find it funny. No one's being nasty really. The purists such as myself are always going to dislike such vehicles. I mean, I picked a magazine up at Minneapolis Airport called 'Automobile'. It's similar to 'Car' magazine over here. This month's special feature was on their top 25 most beatiful cars. You know what, the 300zx was one of them. So, if a chap with a Gallardo started boding bits of fibreglass to his car and painting it lurid colours, then their owners' club would get just as much of a response. Some people like the 300ZX for what it is and how it was designed, not how much stuff you can stick to it and how different you can make it look. As has been said, it's a shame to ruin a beautiful car. :)
  6. £400 is a reasonable price. The later Cavaliers' bodies were fully galvanised and suffered a lot less from rust than the early ones. I had an L reg Cavalier last year as a runabout. Paid £200 and it had Zero rust on it. It was an 1800 though, so not as desirable as an oil burner. I also had a Cavalier GSi about 3 years ago as a daily runner. Only paid £650 for that and what a lovely car for the money. Actually, I miss this car...
  7. £600 is a little steep unless it's a CDX model. Pretty good engines, but slow, Cavalier's are tough as old boots. I've had a few of them and both of them were excellent.
  8. I'm with Broadsure direct and I'm paying £450 fully comp with unlimted mileage, not that I need that. Anyway, I'm 27, full no claims. Back down to 3 points (was on 6).
  9. Ugly as sin. Can't understand why someone would want their car to look like that. All about personal taste though at the end of the day. Personally, I'd be embarrased to drive that.
  10. Exactly. I often get the look of death if I go rumbling by in my Z. Because it burbles quite a bit, low and wide, it automatically gets the look of 'slow down'!!!!!! Pisses me off no-end.
  11. Yuk, never seen the fascination with cheese. The only ones that bare any relevance in my life are mozzarella...(pizzas of course), that burger cheese, the cheese with the holes in it and this...
  12. Not too sure. Might get one made up. I have a friend in the electronics industry that might be able to point me in the right direction.
  13. Pretty sure Z1 are stockists for all Stillen Z32 gear. http://www.z1motorsport.com speak with Russell, pretty sure they'll ship to the UK. Good company too and are sponsors of the US 300ZX owners' club forum.
  14. Best money you can spend on the arse of a Zed. Well worth buying the centre panel too. Not only will the old panel look faided and scratched in comparison, but they won't even match due the the chrome bezels that surround the lenses on the 99-spec and not the old ones.
  15. Thanks for the info Danny. Although might try and have a go at doing it myself. All I need to do is to remove all the stuff from the 3rd brake light behind the perspex panel and just leave the frame of the unit in place. Then, I just need to get something like this to mount behind in its place with the relevant resistors and harness.... just a narrow PCB with pre-mounted LEDs...
  16. The girl wants shot.
  17. Yeah that's it. I am wondering what the bulb holder looks like behind the perspex panel. It's different to that of one with the rubber spoiler.
  18. I'm not after the complete rear lights. Just the high level brake light. Maybe it's possible to make your own. After all, it's just one thin strip.
  19. Trying to replace the misserable bulb holder in the 3rd brakelight which sits behind the perspex panel. Nissan for some reason put a wierd bulb holder behind them which has bulbs facing at different angles, so you get areas which look really dim on it. Those that have them know what I mean. Because of the size restrictions and the bulb angles, replacing the stock bulbs with LEDs can't be done. BUT, I've been pointed in the general direction of a company called clearcorners.com over in the states. Has anyone used them before? Apparently, they can remanufacture your existing bulb holders and turn the strip into an LED array. http://www.clearcorners.com/products/nissan/300zx2
  20. LOL, unfortunately not, both camera and phone had died by this point.
  21. Not long been back, was 2 days late getting home after a small fire broke out on board the plane 32,000ft up. The fire was very small and was easily extinghsed, but it filled the cabin with noxious fumes. The pilot managed to make an emergency landing in some far out airfield near the Canadian boarder. It was a little bit scary, but that soon turned to frustration and anger as North West Airlines made a catalogue of managerial blunders. After landing, they sent over a few technicians who couldn’t really do much, an air steward was then taken off in an ambulance, for what, I can only assume was due to inhalation of nasty gasses caused by this electrical fault which caused the fire. We were sat on this runway, not allowed off the plane. Eventually got a message off the captain that we were to remain there as they were preparing another DC10 to take off from Minneapolis with a new crew and some spare parts. He hinted that if all could be fixed then we’d be going back to Gatwick in the plane we were in as this airport had no baggage handling facilities what so ever. Unfortunately, this caused a number of passengers to revolt protesting that they’d never fly home on this plane. After being sat on the runway for about 4 hours, this other plane landed. About 50 passengers who refused to fly on out plane waited to be allowed off while 3 hours were spent hunting through the plane’s baggage containers for their luggage. At this point it was about 5am, had been sat there for like 8 hours. Plane had ran out of food and water and the toilets had filled up, but 3 boxes of mineral water were then man-handled on to the plane. Eventually, the captain signaled that they were now indeed ready for take off and we started to taxi out to this runway. Was nearly 6am by the time this had happened. We sat there, and sat there and sat there and nothing happened. After about an hour, the captain made an announcement that they were having some data problems (reads: runway too short for the plane’s current payload). After another half an hour of being sat there, the Captain then makes the announcement that this 2nd stand-by crew’s hours were almost up, so we had to return to where this other plane had landed and these emergency vehicles were waiting. After being sat there for a further 2 hours, an announcement was made that yet another plane was being flown over from Minneapolis. The first 120 passengers were then taken off an boarded the DC-10 that had arrived, we then had to wait until about 9am for this other DC9 to land before being allowed off and on to this one. So, after boarding this plane, we eventually took off leaving a further 40 passengers on the ground who had spend the next 4 hours being bussed back to Minneapolis. After arriving back we were greeted by NWA staff who were handing out flight vouchers......$50 if you spend $200 or more on a flight>>>!!!??? WTF? A few passengers then got really irate and started ripping these up and throwing them all over the place. After getting back into the main building, we were told that we’d be put up in a hotel until about midnight in which they’d get another plane, transfer all out luggage over and fly us home. So we were given hotel vouchers and a meal voucher for the whopping sum of $13!!!!!! That’s about £7!!!!!!! This was supposed to be sufficient for yet another 14 hours wait after being stuck on a plane for 14hours already with nothing to eat!!!!!! Those that were in the Sheraton hotel were then told to make their way onto the main concourse area at the front of this particular terminal to await transportation which we were assured would be there within 5 mins, Of course no one had their luggage because it was still on the plane which was about 200 miles away. After waiting, no transport turned up, so a group of us got a taxi, including this drop dead gorgeous Korean girl who I’d kinda befriended at this point. So, we get to this hotel, must have been about 11am by now. Stood and queued at the information desk and eventually got given a hotel room, which was actually quite nice. Only trouble being that due to its layout it had some kind of central atrium which had leisure areas and a swimming pool in the middle. This was full of screaming kids and my hotel room backed onto it...so what didn’t happen? Yes, no sleep again! Managed to get some food later on with this Korean girl who then suggested we go for a sauna. She wasn’t in the least bit shy and decided to sit there with her tits out and the smallest of towels round her waist. I struggled to hide a full-on-robo-chubby that had started to develop in my nether regions. After sitting in the sauna for about an hour and watching her sweat profusely, she then suggested that we take a cold bath in this HUGE whirlpool bath that she fortunately had in her bath...needless to say, I didn’t know where to look as she stripped off totally! She had the body of a goddess!!.....anyway that was the only mildly interesting part of this whole episode. Managed to get onboard this bus to take us back to the airport for about 11pm. I then kicked up a stink with the NWA staff at the airport and demanded they give us some more food vouchers, which they did....$10 this time which wasn‘t too bad as I managed to pig-out on meatball marinara at the Subway that were there!! Boarded the plane about 11.30 only to then be told by this new crew on the new plane that, yes, they were going to again delay the take off of this flight due to crew shortages! I flew off the handle at this point and stormed off the plane and gave the flight manager probably the biggest *****cking of his life. He turned bright purple and just didn’t know what to say. Felt a bit sorry for him later on, but after all that grief to then be told that this flight was going to be delayed was far being humor at this point. Eventually, they managed to get another staff member and the plane took off at about 1.30am. The flight home was actually quite good fun as most people had made friends with each other and just spent the next few hours taking the piss out of the whole event before drifting off into some kind of unconscious state until we landed. So after getting through 3 planes and 4 crews, I eventually landed at Gatwick 36hours late and sleepless for 2 days! Shall be endeavoring to get every last penny back for my flights with NWA after what they put us through. I think it’s the least they can do. I’ve lost 2 days of work because of it.
  22. Forget it then. You could have just told me you weren't interested.
