The general public? We are the general public and there are probably more people on this thread that agree that the guy got what was coming to him. Do you think that if it was your mate or girlfriend that got attacked by him, you'd have said to the police 'hold on, I think it's a bit unfair you giving him another electric shock'. It's minor situation in my eyes. I'd worry about what's going on with North Korea's nuclear arsenal, not whether some scum bag got another tagging when he was being aggressive and offensive....and has been prolific in that. Sorry, I just don't see it as being a major issue. The guy was in the wrong, big deal he got another tasering. It's designed to immobilise which is what it did. The first shot obviously didn't do the job, so a second shot was needed. Seemed to work. Job done. The media only think it's an issue because for them, it's a story.

Like I said, if the officer may have felt threatened, then he's within his right, the video is very blurry and sound quality non-existent. I can't understand why you continue to stick up for him? If the guy is continuing to be verbal and aggressive, then to save further injury to anyone or any escalation of the immediate situation, tasering seems the ideal solution. They could have beaten him with a baton!

TBH, if the guy was a known prolific offender and the officer knew that and felt threatened by any of his actions or language, then I don't blame him for using a taser and IMO, has every right to. Come on, it's not like they shot him or anything.

What between a communist state and some low life getting tasered because he wouldn't let police arrest him and you now thinking that all police are in some way corrupt? Some treatments 'creep'. Waxoil does and because of this, is best to do on a hot/sunny day if you're injecting into box sections etc.
