  16. Ok so my new n/a has a strange steering issue which myself & 1 of the previous owners can't seem to get to the bottom of. When turning steering wheel (left or right) to lock it goes from a feeling of resistance to none at all at about half at turn & then back again?..... on, off,on,off & back again.... I thought it was something to do with the PAS but no, now up on axle stands with the wheels off its exactly the same. 1 of the previous owners changed the rack twice, still not resolved?.... It feels like something is out of shape or bent. Could it be the coloum itself, it does have a solid steering coloum spacer?... Bent arms? I'm at a loss, any ideas? Cheerz James
  17. Absolutely gutted for you bud, I know only to well how it feels, just hope your insurance company let you keep it so you can sell some parts & try and recoup some of the money you've poured into it....... mine didn't they took it away and didn't even entertain the option of buying it back as it was a Cat D. Just glad youre ok
  18. Hi all, So, some of you may already have picked up on the fact i got myself another Zed last month against all odds & after saying i'd never have one again and selling the contents of my garage! Turns out after my accident in April & being completely heart brocken having written my car (of 10 years) off i understandably became a miserable B**t**d (according to the wife). Having sold what spare parts i'd collected over the years i'd resigned myself to never owning another Z32. However, having recovered from the accident my wife began to encourage me to look for another car to cheer me up. So i started looking at the alternatives SKylines, Supras, S13 & S14's but nothing really did for me and the ones that did were well out of my price range (Jap Tax is well and truely on the rise!) Couple of months passed by, started visiting this site more and ended looking at Zed's again..... Although there are some lovely examples out there i didnt want to spend to much, wanted a bit of project to work on and make my own but i will also be continuing to use it for drifting (much to the dismay of some of you on here im sure). Eventually after much searching i came across a car that is known on here and has been owned by a couple of members. However the young lad that had it when i found it, didnt know what he really had, the problems its got, where to start and his mrs had told him to sell it, he drove it once then it sat in his garage covered & filled with crap for 4 months! So ive gone on long enough now, here she is.. K222 PUP she's a 1996 N/A previously owned by Coconat (Natalie) but prior to that & the one most will remember was Nferriera (Nelson) Nelson spent a fair bit of money & time on her years ago and she was lovely condition, however since then she's had a bit of hard life being used a drift car by Natalie. Body wise all is good although the BGW will be going and the bonnet & boot could do with a respray. The rear interior has been stripped out but il will be putting rear seats back in (to take the kids to meets & events) thanks to the kind donation of ianl. There's a fair bit of work to do rusty sills and a steering issue being the worst & a few more little jobs here & there, more details of which will come up in Help & Advice section in time to come. Yes i know she's an N/A and my previous was a TT & i will miss that boost but my 1st Zed 15 years ago was an N/A & i loved it + i said fancied a bit of a change lol Apologies for rambling on, just feels great to be able to share this, be back in a Zed again & feel like a part of the club again... Few more pics for you The BGW will be removed very soon! I'd just like to add, if it hadnt of been for the unrivalled support & encouragement of my wonderful mrs. & the fact she loves them too, this would never of happened. I'll soon be on the Help & Advice section with questions i'm sure. Cheerz James
  19. Absolutely gutted for you Lee, I know 1st hand how it feels having lost my Zed back in May. The main thing is you're ok & the car has not been written off unlike mine. If I still had mine I would of continued with the repairs & got her back on the road. It's a labour of love particularly when you've put so much money & time in to it. I was so heartbroken i swore I was done with Zed's now but have found myself looking at another one already. Don't give up mate, I'm sure those that can will rally round to help as many already have. Good luck bud, hope you get it sorted.

  22. So, its taken me some time to be able to get round to writing this..... Some of u who know me may have been wondering where I was not at Japfest considering i was so excited & had track time booked..... The weekend before I went to get new tyres fitted + full alignment & camber set up redone as i'd dropped the car even lower on her meister coilovers. About 5 mins after leaving said tyre specialist I crossed a round about (without going sideways for once) & accelerated gently up a hill in a straight line..... problem is it was pissing it down, lots of surface water changed up into 3rd & accelerated, back end went span full retard took out a road sign and a few trees on my side :-( 2 broken ribs, cracked shoulder, cuts and bruises.... very lucky all things considered. However, for those about to say at least your ok cars are repairable, yes I am but my Dutchess isn't. It doesnt look to bad from this side but the Insurance company written it off Cat B & won't let me have it back :-( have been made a settlement offer but it doesn't even come close to the 10 years of love, dedication, passion & a shit load of money I have poured into her. I'm beyond gutted. So, in the coming weeks I will be selling my surplus parts, adjustable suspension, front & rear bumpers & lights. In the meantime keep your eyes open for some juicy parts from my car popping up on ebay in the coming wks from the breaker the insurance company has sold her on to. Once I've sold my surplus parts in my garage I will be taking a break from the forum as it breaks my heart, 2 Zed's 12 yrs of ownership & a lot of passion & money.... but hopefully I will be back. Cheerz James
