Fuel Protests
I say yes to the protests but overall I think it will have little or no impact. What this government should do is completely review the whole state benefit system, it is supposed to supoort people who cant work and not be a choice for people to take up benefits and never work. Its unsustainable and heading for a fall. I say lucky you to all you 40 and 50 somethings out there that may see the last scraps of pension when you are older. Im a 20 something and wont see sh%t. I will pay £1000's in and get nothing out. I live as a reasonable citizen paying my way trying to work hard and earn a living whilst other people chose not to work and get quite a lot for free, or enough free time so they can earn money on the side and have quite a nice life thankyou while honest people work all week and take home the same or very little more. This country SUX. If you work hard or have a business then the government only tax your ass so you cant win either way. Take a look every problem lies in the fact that there is little or no social responsibility, people are just satisfied to take take take, but do I blame them? No I blame the government for letting them do that. Its the system thats to fault not the people who will inevitabaly always play it if they can! Im sad to say I dont think it will ever get any better as what government would change the benefits system now? No governemnt there are too many voting non tax payers out there who they need to be in power...GGRRRRR I have had my moan today now that feels better. Forget the fuel prices, dont worry buy petrol for your Z while you can, enjoy life while you can, you never know what's around the corner....

Can you get a front Splitter for the Z32?
I had an old catalogue for SE which came with my car as they had looked after it for a long time and they sell or sold a front valence extension which looks more aggressive reduces airflow under the car and has vents which also can work with a sold seperately underbody braking duct kit basically that flows airflow under the car across to the breaks to cool them down, pretty cool me thinks. I will try to scan piccys of the two bits of kit in later, if the pub does not draw me into its grasps :)

Left hand drive ..... ?
I see I was just wondering as there are some fantastic Z's over the ocean in the US. Then again there are also ones in Japan with the wheel on the right side. Thanks all.

Left hand drive ..... ?
Is it possible to change a left hand drive Z into a right hand drive one, anyone ever done it or know someone who has? What would the cost be? This may seem a mad question but there is a reason. :hyper:

ECU Upgrade / Chip
For when I get to upgrading the ecu does anyone know who might be a good person to talk to as I think I would prefer it if someone was able to re-program the car individually rather than just buy an off the shelf chip and out of interest am I right in thinking that there is some device somewhare where you could set different settings eg sport and normal road use and flick a switch to move between the two? If anyone can explain more about this to me or point me to someone who knows then that would be good....

New Turbo Upgrade
Hi I am going to have my Z engine rebuilt and am considering what turbos to have with it, the engine will have a full rebuld with forged pistons etc but I can get the following turbos at present and wonder if people think thay would be a good improvment or if I should go for a different set of turbos. Im currently considering Skyline r33/34 tubs modified to fit ZX .60Ar Compressor, Super 60 compressor wheel, .64 Ar turbine housing and T28 turbine wheel please let me know what you recommend if anything better than that. Im told that if I can get 5 bolt downpipes and rotate the intakes slightly then they will fit fine but if anyone has any better options please let me know, im not an expert on this kind of thing so your advice is valuable.

Off to the Far East (kinda!) any advice on what to buy
Hi I am planning a trip to see friends in Hong Kong, I know its not Japan but does anyone know of any good buys I may be able to pick up out there for my Z either upgrades or whatever, at present its sat waiting for an engine rebuild and two new tubs, its a very sad little devil and needs cheering up... I guess I can just send the stuff via their postal service!? I thought I may be able to get one of those boost controllers or turbo timers maybe for a good price but hey I have never been there. On a related point if I get my engine rebuilt and some new turbos will I have to run it in gently (im guessing so) but for how long/ many miles? Because if I have an idea then I can look forward to bolting loads of stuff onto it to improve its performance. One thin thats going to come near to the top of my list is that Racelogic traction control.... nice

Dump valves
If you find out post the answer so we know, interesting. :)

PCV Valves
What are they for and how much would they be to replace on a Z including fitting, any ideas? Also if they are broken then is there anything else I should look out for that may break next or soon. Its all a mystery to me.

Still trying to save my Z
Whats bad about them? I am indifferent at the moment. What should I look out for and after installation what do people recommend I check as I know an aparrently ok working engine may be not quite so! Im not very technical your advice is welcomed!

Still trying to save my Z
I have come across a low cost alternative to saving my Z and would like your advice. I have come across a place in Birmingham who will fit one of their 40-50k TT engines, inc turbos, they have 5-6 engines at present and will charge a flat rate plus bolt on whatever else I need, water pump oil pump and fit timing belts etc plus what ever other parts I want to bring to them, they say they have done around 5-6 Z's in the past. they say if they fit an engine and its not right etc they will refit another of their engines for no extra cost. All I pay is around £1400 in total. Sounds too good to be true but there doing the business. I would like your advice please. What extra things should I insist on installing or doing whilst the engine is out, aswell as the engine and tubs? I just dont know what to do.

Wanting to save a UK Z I need your advice
Hello, this is my first post and im not too much of a technical person so bear with me. I have a 1990 UK 300ZX TT Auto that is completely standard, I aquired it a couple of weeks ago and its wrong! Here is what I have established are the problems, oh dear here we go! New/recon turbos required Engine oil seals front and rear Radiator (upper hose broken) Possible Hicas link bushings Compression test results: 1 116psi 2 113psi 3 114psi 4 95psi 5 114psi 6 89psi Engine requires rebuilding due to low compression. Suspect piston rings as cause, recommend full rebuild with new forged pistons/rings, cambelt kit (belt/tensioner/water pump etc). Block will require rebore. One turbo seized requires replacement/rebuilding, both turbos to be replaced. Crank seals part of rebuild work. Im quoted 24 hours work for this little lot. @ £45 hr as for the price of parts I dont know yet. Is that good or bad? As I see it I need to make a decision, is it worth it. I would like to save this beauty and bring it back to life but do I keep it standard or do I go for some extra BHP if I go for all this work. I figure if I go for it I will go for forged pistons. I would appreciate your comments, the car already has a SS decat exhaust, thats all! My personal ideas are possibly 360 deg turbos, hicas eliminator bar, new disks pads vented, drilled, traction control. Basically im not looking at having a 500bhp beast as I know the car is fast anyway but if I could get around 60bhp extra or so... safely then I would be interested. What do you folks think. Of course the other option is just import a jap manual car for around 5k and start afresh but I would like to keep this one on the road.
