I'm not bad when I drive, I just like to go fast (although not so much now I have 9 points). I hate people who sit in the outside lane and don't let me pass and also the fact that people have no courtesy on the road. How come the moment people get in cars they think they can act like arseholes? I stop and let people out of junctions and move in to let bikes past when ever they are faster than me. I expect people to do the same for me. If they don't then I go anyhow!!
  4. 700 squids for a steering wheel !!!!!
  5. I've got a longer version here somewhere, I'll see if I can find it later. I like that clip.
  6. Jesus mate, you're being tortured arn't you? Probably be cheaper to buy a new one and mix and match the bits the way you're going. Sometimes you just have to admit a loss and get on with it. I bought my old one for 4k and spent a couple of k on rebuiding the engine, and a k on a re-con gearbox, and had many problems like you. I always had it in pieces, and 3mths after the re-build the engine went again. I learn't so much about engines, but eventually had to admit it was fooked again and sold it ebay for a k and a half or thereabouts. I got my current one which has never been in bits (apart from MAF in pouring rain). Its worth it in the end mate, but the overdraft will never look good!!
  7. Makes sense to get the auto one then I guess? Its possible that the fittings are different. Unlikely I'd have thought as nissan wouldn't want to make seperate bits for autos and manuals unless they have to. It fits to the main block doesn't it? I wonder if the block is different for manual/auto? find out, then you'd know.
  8. Havn't heard any of the new ones. I like the others, play a few on the guitar as well.
  9. My current one has been solid with all money spent on improvements apart from a hundred odd on a MAF. My old one was a nightmare, blew the engine, rebuilt it, blew it again, sold it on ebay for not a lot! Awesome cars though, like any turbo car of any age, you should have a grand or so in reserve for problems.
  10. I've burnt 2 MAFs this year already! I know all about the wet in a Zed mate!! I had to fit a standard airbox for 4mths to make sure I wouldn't have any problems using the car for work everyday (its been bullet proof, thankfully). Only recently stuck the Apexi on but don't want to test its waterproof properties!
  11. It gets hot wearing a wetsuit in the car, even without the heater matrix :nana2:
  12. Sorry guys but the rain and lots of work to be done doesn't make Bluewater appealling to me! I'll see how the work goes over the next few hours. Dave
  13. I'd just disconnect them seeing as they are trying to get money back! They'll probably charge a stack as its 'officially' a dash out job so they'll do it that way and make money back. Although they do sound ok, seeing as they've already replaced the engine . Mine are disconnected and its fine, freezing in winter though.
  14. Nice car bud, welcome to the forum.
  15. Happy birthday mate, cheers for my car! lol
  16. It's horrible for people who want to sell but its great for experienced people who want to keep. My mate spent 10k + on a vauxhall astra last year. He's paying finance for however many years on an average salloon that will depreciate by thousands in the first year. I paid 5k, got a near supercar, spent a couple of grand on upgrades (brake setup , etc) and maintainance ( tyres etc ) and could still replace the engine if it went bang and pay less than him! I don't think people should be buying them without having a couple of grand available to replace the engine and/or the turbos, gearbox etc. Touch wood because I havn't got that money spare just now!!
  17. i get it on subscription if you want to see it when its out.
  18. Nice one mate, good luck!
  19. cue:- 99 spec bumper!
  20. Have you looked in the workshop manual Bird? I recognise the part but can't remember. You should be able to find it easy enough as its quite obvious.
