  1. I like tapas, but the lure of the McDonalds may be too much :D I'll try and get along, assuming I get the Zed back from Read by then..
  2. You could try my sister in laws company - http://www.craftyribbons.com. They do ribbons!
  3. Yes, will PM Gaz and see if we can eliminate the PTU as being the issue. Its not a perfect Zed, but I bought it so I can a) learn about the Z32 and b) so I can restore it to its former glory. Its getting there slowly... Will be trying to get to the next DJCC meet....
  4. Seems a common problem with the Z32's this PTU. I have found a receipt from 2006 stating that a Series 2 PTU wiring and harness was installed - is it possible that like most things, time and wear can kill a PTU? Definitely worth seeing if it is the PTU, just to eliminate it if it is something else!
  5. OK, so went for a 25 mile round trip today. Halfway there the Zed starts to feel lumpy, when I took my foot off the accelerator, it felt like it was not fuelling. Then after a few hundred metres of this it just dies. Power off, engine off, no power steering etc. Stopped at side of road, well, the middle of a high street actually. Was decelerating at the time and going in a 20mph zone. Turbo timer cuts in, so I wait for 30s, then restart the car. No problems there, drive for another mile and again, it cut out. Repeated 7 more times until I got home. So, at home, thought I would do some simple diagnostics. Started car, on idle, I can hear nothing unusual. Revving it, again, no odd smoke, its smelt a bit rich, but that is all. Turned AVCR off, no change. Then noticed that at idle it was repeating the sound like it was when driving - like a put put sound. Then it just stopped, even at idle. Left it for an hour, then started it again. No trouble starting, drove around the block and within 500m, it starts again. Coasted into my own driveway. Something is up and I have no idea what it could be. I cannot hear anything different, until the put put sound starts. Any ideas anyone?
  6. On the Zed I recently bought, it has three vents (two side like the above and one middle larger one). It has caused many electrical problems and so I have no choice but to cover the car or keep it in the garage. It's a pain really so I will be swapping it back to a normal bonnet at some point in the future.
  7. It's a project, so like many 300's on here, it will take time, but it will be nice again soon. Aiming to have it reasonably good for Japfest as I'll be going with the DJCC.
  8. Yes - it has three vents and was leaking water onto the battery and other electrics. It's on the list to do!
  9. Thanks all! Yes, I am sure many people have been in a car that is 22 years old - don't worry, I won't ask! Actually, I don't want to know! Need to get bodywork looked at so any recommendations gratefully received.
  10. Yes, it has a high level spoiler - probably too high unless I really need the downforce! Pics will come once it has stopped raining. I have some old pics of it below.
  11. Hi all, Just got my pack through so thought I would introduce myself. Have bought a project car - it's a silver LWB TT auto, reg G25 SCK. The car is an import, reasonably modified with a rare bodykit. It needs alot of TLC, which I hope to give it to restore it to its original beauty. It used to belong to a lady called Gill who regularly ran it at Santa Pod I understand, so it could be the making of a good 300! Extra parts on it include - Hiro body kit (apparently quite rare??), Tein Type Flex coilovers with Tein Pillow Ball Tension Rods and the Tein EDFC, Apexi SAFC, Apexi AVCR, HKS Turbo Timer, Twin HKS SSQV BOV's, Custom in one downpipes and decats in s/s, Twin Trust 5.2" Exhausts, Custom leather interior - cream/black, Custom Rerouted engine cooling system re-routed to bypass the throttle bodies, HKS ALC autobox controller, HKS Boost Gauge, Custom Rear Brake light incorporated into the Spoiler (360 degree LEDs), Custom Vents in front wings, Venom Rear LED Lights, Intercooler Hardpipes, Mocal 19 row oil cooler for Engine + inline thermostat, Mocal 16 row oil cooler for autobox + inline thermostat, Mines induction kit, BMW Titanium Silver paint (resprayed 8 years ago apparently), EGR system removed, extreme custom chip - it revs to 8300rpm!, Bomex vented headlight panel, Clifford alarm with intellistart (remote start), Vented bonnet, and 18" dark grey alloys. It needs a good service, mapping and the fueling checked as I think it is running too lean, but apparently made over 360bhp ATF at Thor Racing years ago (and a similar amount of torque). The bodywork is the worst - rust, peeling lacquer, but all recoverable. As I say, a nice little project! Cheers, Greg
