i love these cars
I don't have one at the moment but I've build a couple. One with the Beta Volumex motor and the other with the V6 alfa. I have a Volumex motor here to go in a car for myself as soon as I find the time. Suppose if I stopped smashing my Zed up I could have had it done by now.. Served my time on Lancia's and Alfa's you see so kinda have a soft spot for them. Integrale is still the fastest point to point car ever build 200BHP 4x4 and it lighter than a Mk1 Golf Gti. "You don't have to slow down for the corners" Trust me i've had people begging me to stop and let them out !!!! :) ... Integrale "handling"     .... Integrale reliability :headvswal :headvswal :headvswal .. If you can't weld and don't feel comfortable doing full engine rebuilds don't buy one..

1st zed road kill 4 me...
I once hit a sheep doing 90+ in my old mans 911 Turbo that I wasn't supposed to be driving.. I felt it go under the car through the floor.. Not very nice.. Nor was my old mans responce when he found out :)

Poll: How do you afford your Zed?!
Where's the "I have to sort it myself and loads of other Zeds on the east coast of Scotland" Option :)

Ok so I stand corrected :) I've only been involved with the HF2000 and 3000 kits and not many Ferrari motors lying about to drop in. Unlike the rust bucket 164's, plenty of cracking 3ltr V6's out a them going about

Hi Mac Orig car had the V6 Ferrari motor that was in the 308GTB .. The HF kits take the Beta 2000ltr motors best of which is the Volumex fitted with a Roots supercharger and much bigger crank bearings and MASSIVE amouts of torque from like 1000rpm.. The HF3000 kit takes the alfa 164 3000 V6 but adds weight .. good kit but it's a track car really in the end

They recon if you can find a 308 motor to fit in the kit, it's faster than the real car but try finding a 308GTB motor. Other option is an Alfa 164 V6 3000.

Proper Stratos can't be bought .. Like mega money but you can build a kit HF2000 for about £4000 if you can find a Volumex motor.. "I've got one by the way"

i love these cars
Yeah but it handles and the motors in the back and it's fun to drive .. unlike a TR7 in every respect :)

Engine Blew on the M3 Motorway Last night!
Just as a matter of interest. The car I have breaking did exactly the same. It looks to me on the motor "That the bearing picked up "normaly caused by Sh*** oil pressure" or crank wear ..

Who says engine removal is a hard job?
Zeds a cracking car I recon !! .. best sports car ever !!! Turbo or not !!!!
-
Who says engine removal is a hard job?
Guess yours is an NA then!! :) All 14'ish year old sports motors cost loads to run "Ask any Lotus or Lancia Integrale owner" The Integrale uses £100 worth of wheel bearings a year and thats if you fit the bloody things yourself. Lotus 907 engines ran 165 to 197 BHP in NA form. For a four cylinder engine designed in 1972 and using the same casting as a bedford van oil pressure was a nightmare on them and yer lucky to get 20K out of a crank and shells "granted the motor was cast in alloy with wet liners and had a 16V head" If you want a fast car make sure it has at least one turbo!! Most amazing car I ever owned, has to be the "Lancia Beta Volumex" Supercharged 2ltr Beta "rusty car but thats not the point here" would nail you into the seat in top from 1200RPM on full right foot.. Mega torque, but it was front wheel drive. Should a been 4x4 like the Delta S4. Recon for the money the 300ZX TT is the ultimate weapon!! It also starts in the morning without swaping the plugs and you don't have to run it for 100 miles untill your brave enough to give it some welly .... "Integrale would whip yer ass but the zed TT would be right behind it and still going when it blew up" :) Cs

Who says engine removal is a hard job?
Well it seems obvious to me !! The model in the picture is a NA so requires no brake pipes from the master cylinder "As it's not fast enough to need them" Rolling road resistance slows them down enough. The engine doesn't get hot enough to require rad hoses "Just dumps the water on the road" as per the old british motor cycle oil system and the HICAS has been removed to stop the driver thinking it's a Turbo when he eventually get to the corners :)
