  1. I've been playing with turbo cars for a couple a years. Saab 99 turbo was the first "The black James bond one with the slotted alloys" (Showing my age now) fitted with a strait pipe and was a laugh as the motor of the day was the XR3i 1600
  2. blackmagic and greg... I can see you :)
  3. After the turbo's the gas flow consept is in the bin anyway "just get it out a here" fastest is best if you can stand the noise.. Please note the inlet side "ECU" has to know whats going on to be able to keep the fuel air mixture correct
  4. BlackMagic what do you mean by "divorced manifolds" ??
  5. Na mate.. The turbo vein system takes the crack out of the exhaust pulse. Alot of turbo tractors have no boxes on them from the factory. I know the dynamics of it just wondered if anyone had tried it.. Or am I gona be the first :)
  6. Na I mean no boxes at all. I've done it one a couple a turbo cars before you see
  7. Anyone ever tried strait pipes without boxes ?? Craig

  15. Problem with Zed's and Garages is. The Boss takes on job of fitting turbo's to your pride and joy when he looks the thatcham book up it should take 10hours days and 1/2's work no problem. Car arrives and goes into workshop. All the mechanic lift the bonnet and start scratching there heads. No one wants to start the job so everyone runs for a Nova to service. Car sits for a week untill the boss notices it hasn't been started. Then there's a riot and if your lucky the boss is able to don his boiler suit and fix it himself. I've seen this happen so many times father had a Lancia dealership you see. Everythings difficult. Integrale 16v you have to take the engine out to fit a timing belt :) Craig Mechanic If you buy a Zed or and Integrale you have to be able to fix it yourself

Hi Ossian My car has been lying about for 2 years so didn't dare trying to remove the suspention. I repiped the whole car in copper so it won't need looked at again. I buy passed the alloy block in the boot floor and piped the wheels directly to the ABS unit the front brakes have more power than they did before. According to the brake test machine. The pipes are all nice and neat in the boot and under the car. Was still tricky but saved hours in broken bolts and exhausts and the like. Anyone wana know how to do it just gimme a shout. Thanks Craig

  21. P.s how do you add photo's of yer motor to the members detail section??
  22. Remember I'm Scottish I bid him £50 first off.. :).. Na joking aside the brake pipes where all rotten the drivers window let water in like a mira "Due to a missing 10mm nut I may add" there was no oil pressure showing the car had been laid up for 2 years "Bloke told me 6months but the tax had been out for 2 years" .. When started it sounded like monkeys fighting in an oil drum with spanners and the back arches where rotten. The front jacking points also fell to bits when proded. But I new it was worth sorting.. Makes you smile when you drive it. All cars should be like that the toyota yasis should be banned along with the dawo matis "Sounds like a washing machine" Drives like one to. CARS SHOULD BE FUN !! .. I'm pissed off as a mechanic to go to an MOT station and the bloke looks at you like "O no not another car" then as it's 14 years old spends 1hour 30mins .. yes 1 hour 30mins scratching about under my motor only to ba able to find brake pipes "which I new needed changed but didn't fancy the job".. Are there any other proper mechanics left?? Im just in from my garage finishing off the welding on my 300 .. 1.30am .. Whats up with people these days "Lifes like a Matiz me thinks" BUT NOT MINE
  23. You get a smile for longer when the right one goes down, In yer Zed me thinks. P.s got the engine flush tip from Ryan quiet as a mouse.. :)
  24. I bought my 1990 TT with mega rattly cam followers and no indicated oil pressure for £500 engine flush fixed the cam followers and my universal gauge shows 80psi when cold recon I got a bargain.. I've now replaced all the brakepipes for MOT that was fun NOT!!!
  25. Yep me to Time served in the old days when that meant 5 years at tech. Just repiped my whole TT as I didn't fancy dropping the suspention. So recon I'm still up for anything with oil on it. Craig
