  1. My advice, get someone who knows these engines to take a look or get it taken to a specialist like Zedworld or D2 as without someone who knows what there doing and can actually diagnose the problem this guessing game could continue forever! I think D2 is nearer to you fella. Good luck
  2. whats that about 3 months interest lol
  3. Well said another case of you get what you pay for i think!!

  6. Sorry to hijack this but having the same problem still? checked the fuse and it had a 15amp so replaced for a 10amp Bingo interior light now works, However my central locking still doesnt???? any ideas anyone???? Also just checked when I drive off my car usually autolocks this isnt working either?? could it be a control module or something?? Thanks Craig
  7. If it was half way up the doors then you can be sure the main ECU has had a drink aswell as the ecu's inside the panels behind the front seats, also the fuse boxes in both footwells, Sorry fella sounds like you really have your work cut out. Prob is it could take months before the corosion on the electrics takes effect. Good luck Craig
  8. If your seriously going for this one fella, take a bloody good look at the service history oil changes etc, as presentation is the key to a well looked after car. I hope it works out for ya.
  9. Would he be the one that worked on these heads the first time? By any chance??
  10. So he's cracked and pressure tested them stripped them back fully cleaned them replaced any seals, valves etc all for £40 a head that's some he'll of a mates rate
  11. Well I'll try it with these plates then and see what happens
  12. Not sure what to do with the forged bottom end tbh, had a mechanic look at it and he thinks theres nothing wrong with it, so really not sure what to do with it
  13. good luck getting a standard plate on my bumper lol
  14. Been looking on the dvla website and I cant find anything to say the 3/4 plates are illegal, My car is due for MOT and im not sure if my plate will fail. its standard legal lettering spacing etc, just a 3/4 plate and at the min its in my window as i havent sorted mounting brackets out for the bumper. can anyone shed any light please. thanks Craig
  15. It may well have the spec but if the car hasnt been looked after then how long will it last, Would you spend 8k on a car with a fantastic spec but pop the hood and it like like that. I know if i had a spec like that in my car id take pride in it and at least clean it. All comes down to reciepts and service history and if its been looked after though i guess.
  16. Looks like crap, obviously might have been pulling that kinda bhp at one time, but looks about ready for the scrappers now. If i was gonna spend 8k Id want it presented a hell of a lot better then that!!!!
  17. Cheers for that, The heads already had new lifters etc I just wanted them checked cleaned and any valves replaced that were needed. (which was 2 on one head) Thought £120 for a complete gasket set was taking the micheal a bit.
  18. If you want to password your photo album then myphoto is a great little app ;)
  19. Im currently in the middle of a build for this kinda power, and just to be on the safe side ive gone for a forged bottom end, FMIC, Hybrid turbos, Decat exhaust, HKS filter, AVCR, 555injectors, mapped ecu, Koyo rad, fully rebuilt ported & polished heads & intake manifold, Uprated clutch, lightened flywheel, main underdrive pully, with Hicas and aircon deletion, I may also go for some nice new tubular manifolds aswell. Hopefully this will see me a reliable road car at 400-450bhp with options of upping later.
  20. Yeah a bit, I was quoted £150 a head now they have said over £500 including a new headgasket set they paid £120 for ???? If thats actually about right then fair enough but just want to do a little research 1st before i tare them a new one. Craig

  22. Lesson to be learnt here lo Where ever you are or have been we will all go somewhere else lol
