As everyone is on the subject i too have a tractor noise but on passenger side. When the car is cold (left overnight) i start it warm it an nothing no noise if i then go anywhere park it up come back a couple of hours later and start it the noise is there. i then warm it up down the road a couple of minutes a couple of blips on the throttle and its gone F**ked if i know :headvswal

My story was when i was a car valeter... a business guy wanted his car cleaned an 89 red tt he made me walk to his office to pick him up in it then drive him to speak to my boss then drop him into town to shop (pink shirts caus he looked that kind of fella) i then proceeded to ramp the sh*t off his motor like the film ferris beullers day off. I drove to my girlfriends works picked her up and and we proceeded to scream round the outskirts of the town. I dont want to be a party pooper here but i have been to interpro a few times had my car rolling roaded (at great cost i might add) and the prinout only showed B.H.P. nothing else and i was hoping to see what my engine was doing in other places lbs. ft. of torque oil pressure maybe boost perhaps i dunno then i talk to dave there about what i can do to improve my performance he says hks. fmic then i talk to baggins and he tells me lots of other things and that the fmic is not exactly the way forward. They charged me the other day from 12.30- 4.00 yet i didnt even turn up till 12.40 and my car stood around for 25mins after that ! I am sure they know their business but in my opinion watching my car smoking out the back and a guy with his head under my bonnet giving the cut sign every time my engine screams "detonation!" caus its been ticking over for 30 mins while he deals with a "frequent" customer wasnt my idea of fun at all. Anyway like i said just my opinion... sorry bout the rant

I tell you steve even if they caught the w**ker who did it all they,d do is give him 3 hours of community service and a two week holiday in ibiza to "rehabilitate" them. Your best bet is to get a keyhole cam from maplins wireless type hooked up to turn on whenever the car is disturbed then catch a glimpse of them and put the word out. FIND EM AND KNEECAP EM !!!!
