Out of Office Assistant only works with Exchange Server AFAIK. It's really designed for a corporate environment where the server sends the autoreply so the client PC doesn't have to be switched on. Certainly try scraping/cleaning the inside of the connector. It could also be a bad connection in the cable - try running the engine and wiggling the wire/connector to see if the fan switches off at all. If it does, you've isolated the problem... Steve :)

The electric fan will run constantly if the ECU temp sensor reading is not being received by the ECU. Make sure that the connection is good (it's the larger one on the top water pipe IIRC) Steve :)

Just make sure that your Thread Subscription is set to some sort of notification (I use "Instant email notification").
