  1. Hi Vodkashots, I'm sorry if it sounded like I was insinuating that someone on here may wish to buy it, it wasn't my intention. I was just having a moan, that's all. Cheers
  2. Trying to sell on eBay has proved to be more trouble than it's worth. The winning bid was from an account created the day the auction ended with the username just all letters and numbers like someone had mashed the keyboard with their hand. Couldn't contact them so I assume it was fraudulent. Offer the next highest bidder second chance, they fuss about for about a week and say 'Oh sorry no, bought another now'. So I'm stuck with something I can't sell... urgh...Anyone dealt with Car Buyers Wales in the past? I'm sure they'll offer me about a third of that when I take it into them but I just want shot of it to be honest.
  3. Is there really that much crap in a zx tank? I've restored a whole bunch of classic motorcycles so I can't really speak from a four wheeled perspective, but I haven't ever really come across a tank that was full of anything (other than petrol :p). You get the occasional flakes of rust in a steel tank or oxidisation in an aluminium tank sure. But the rust flakes wouldn't pass through a fuel filtre. I'd doubt that most rust flakes I've seen would break up enough to get into a fuel line. The only way things get into your tank is via a fuel pump at a petrol station or from the tank corroding from the inside, neither of which I can see as being that common of a problem. Admittedly for safe practices your methods make sense but it seems a little over kill to me.
  4. A tenners worth? That's barely a mile in a TT :lol::lol:
  5. Do these cars have them? I bottled it at a hairs breadth above the bottom of the last marker on the fuel gage and filled up. The fuel light wasn't on at that point, just wondering if they have one and what it looks like? It's a 1991 UK manual TT 2+2 if that makes any difference. Thanks
  6. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/in-pictures-14851225 Second photo down. Anyone own that car on here?
  7. Mine is exactly the same haha, it's pretty useless!
  8. Hard to tell if it was Nissan or not really. There's a few invoices about 3 years back which are just listed as general/mechanical and then a price without any description of work which was carried out. While it wouldn't surprise me, there isn't any definitive record here. Based on Jeff spotting that the gaskets being aftermarket I can only assume it was a 3rd party garage that did the work and it's undocumented. The drive home was fantastic though, had the roof off the whole way :thumbup1:
  9. I'll go over the service invoices when I get home to try and work that out. It's my daily z33bolt, so I can't afford to have too many big surprises :p atleast until my motorbike is reassembled that is. So far so good though, I'm really enjoying my first highpowered RWD experience :D
  10. Hi Jeff, First of all thank you! The difference is unreal. It's gone from being the fat asthmatic kid on sports day to Usain Bolt over night! I'm really pleased with how it's turned out and I'm sure I'll be back in the future for anything else I need doing. I can't wait to drive it home through Brecon tomorrow. Hopefully it will be sunny enough to have the roof off too :) Thanks again, James
  11. I'm pretty set on easily accessible storage as opposed to anything decorative. Car is stock at the moment and I don't think that will be changing in the near future so gauges and boost controllers aren't really something I've thought about to be honest. The ZX does seem to be lacking in storage quite significantly :D
  12. Working perfectly now, cheers guys! Now what to do with my spare DIN slot.... hmm.. has anyone got one of these or something similar? eBay Link I like the idea of that, although it does look shockingly cheap and poor quality. Something similar maybe. Do any of you have a DIN cubby with a flip up lid?
  13. Woops! Hit enter.. Anyway, like I was about to explain, I got my new head unit today and picked up a PC2-13-4 adaptor and plugged it all in but nothing happens. In fact the only thing that does happen is the antenna goes up and down about every 40 seconds. Prior to my new Sony head unit, there was just the standard factory Nissan gear in place. I think the issue is that ground isn't in the correct position on my ZX. Not really sure what to do as the ground just simply appears to be missing. I've checked out the wiring diagrams on Gios website and everything Stereo > ISO > PC2-13-4 looks the same, but then from PC2-13-4 > 300ZX it looks as though there is no ground on the ZX in the correct pin location. I'm assuming this is why it isn't turning on. Is there any way of telling which the ground wire is on the ZX? Thanks
  14. Hi all, Just got my ZX a couple of days ago and my new headunit arrived today
  15. Cam belt and all the fluids and filters are definitely on the cards. I know main dealer prices are extortionate but is it worth maintaining the full Nissan service history?
  16. I picked her up Saturday, couple teething problems but they're working themselves out the more miles I do. It had only done about 400 miles in the last 4 years and it had been sat for a few weeks so it was a bit spluttery and judderry for the first 5 or 10 miles. Seems to be running great now though. The main interior light doesn't seem to work, I guess it's the bulb. Are they simple enough to replace? Also I have a head unit from an old car I'd like to use, do I need an adaptor to fit it to the system that's already in place? Also it needs a cover for the passenger side headlamp washer, any ideas where I might find one of those? Thanks a lot :)
  17. Thanks everyone! I don't have any photos of her yet, it's a colleagues who's just bought a Lotus Evora to replace it. He's had it 20 years from new. It's a UK 1991 twin turbo 2+2. Red paint on the outside and a 5 speed box on the inside. 55,000 miles on the clocks and every MOT from new. It also has a full Nissan service history with every invoice. Seems to be in very good running order. No rust, no noises, flawless paint on it. It's totally stock. No after-market parts whatsoever, even has the original stereo and CD player. I can't wait to pick it up!
  18. New 300zx owner here. I don't have her yet, should be picking it up next weekend all going to plan! I was just wondering if any of you could help me out with a question before I get it. I've searched all over the net but I can't find a definitive answer. How wide is the z32 including wing mirrors? Wikipedia says 1,800mm for the 2 + 2 but that just seems a bit narrow for it to include the mirrors. Problem is that I have an extremely narrow driveway and I'm concerned I might have to park my lovely new motor out on the street :sweatdrop:. If it's much wider than 2000mm then I might need to widen the driveway a bit which is something I can take care of before next weekend. Thanks!
