Has any person got some ideas on the best method to change the streeing wheel on the Zed to NICE NEW MOMO, but using a snap off kit and if poss can it be done retaining the Cruise+Hicas. If not , is there another way to sort this out. Thanks, Marcus :hyper:

Pete, the answer to the hoist question is not very portable.. i will put a photo up in a bit. I do have a chair i could transfer into but the problem is it's very much up hill and me being a small person :rofl: with fooked up arms find it a non-starter to transfer out of the Zed this way. Note to self:-I will go to my gym every day and loose a few pounds !! :D :D I can look out for a good venue for a midlands meet if anyone wants to come this way a bit more (Shrewsbury) Marcus

Hi Rich(thought you cant be rich if you own a Zed :rofl: ) Got the work done by a local guy, an ex MOTECH examiner, he has his own work shop with-in his house out buildings (low over heads!) like i said before he did all the work listed for £360 labour; so i guess he don't charge £55 p/h . All seems fine when i went out last night; god it's an easy way to loose your licence in a Zed is it not ?? :headvswal Got to get a lighter right arm !! :eek: Came home and the wife said i was grinning like the Cheshire cat. :hyper: The only prob we had was the miss caused by the dam plug thing coming off; will sort a clamp out at weekend.

Pete, thanks for that. The only problem with me going to 'meets or Da Pod' is that if i go in the Zed then I stay in the Zed; as once in i; can not transfer out again except by using the portable hoist i have at home. I could follow my mate like i did to Jap Fest but i don't get to rip up the black top then :headvswal so it's a difficult one this......... But i know for one thing i have to make it one way or other. :hyper: Marcus

Have got her back this morning !! :hyper: :hyper: New discs/pads fitted;Mot ; braided hoses fitted; S2 PTU fitted; 2 new Bridgestones (rear) fitted; oil/ filter change supply + fit. Fit the auto box cooler also. What was thought to be a water pump fail turned out to be(with help from the guys on here again) split water pipes near the pump so replaced. Pump returned!! money back :nana2: The guy who did it was great and it cost me £360 in labour, so not bad do you think. Lets just hope his work is good, he he is very exp techn chap. Time will tell. All i have to do now is get into the dam thing and go for a test drive ! :hyper:

That is what my friend the mechanic said. Good news is the Zed passed the MOT but the water pump has let go :cry: :cry: fook i said and after he had just put the front bumper/rad/ new auto cooler and induction kit on + new tyres and discs and pads !! :smash: :smash: Never mind managed to get a new OE pump next day for under £70. So it's still off the road till next week. WATCH JOURNAL FOR UPDATES !! :nana2:

I wanted to do my test for years; but i got married and had the kids (well the wife did :smash: ) then as some of you know; after having my first 'big' bike for 5 months some old blind tosser who should not have been on the road, hit me head on; result, me in a wheelchair; but im still alive and do you know I guess I would get back on a trike if i had the chance, :nono: :nono: from the wife now. And a :slap: later !! The thing is mate; you never know what's around the next bend (or straight)in my case. But if we worried ALL the time we would never do anything; so you go for it mate and enjoy it :nana2: :nana2: I guess it is fate, because if had not had my crash I would not have found this site which got me interested in the ZX300, and now i own one. Its not hobby; it's a way of life with a Zed ! :rofl: :rofl:
