I would start by cleaning the connectors on the idle control unit first.

  11. Any help much appreciated. ABS light came on, topped up fluid and checked fuses, no difference. Carried out ABS diagnostic which came up as two flashes. Checked the resistance between appropriate terminals, resistance ok, diagnostic says replace control unit. Sourced a seconhand control unit and still getting two flashes. What have i overlooked? anyone else had this? any basic checks that might solve this? etc. Thanks David

  13. Check the traders section for garages
  14. I'd try the following as an option, http://home.swipnet.se/e-solutions/IdleTech.html even if you just clean the connectors and check for air leaks you may solve it.
  15. I'd go with five and a half seconds for a twin turbo as your average.
  16. This might give you a start. http://www.ttzd.com/tech/60ktech.html

  20. They are on my to do list, maybe even tonight, do you think they would affect it every fifteen seconds?
  21. I have had a problem with my idle which i have nearly fixed. For a while i had to keep my foot on the gas at idle as it was threatening to die on me. I removed the idle air adjusting unit, gave it a we clean inside and cleaned up the connectors. I know have my cold start mechanism and air conditioning compensator back working fine. The problem is my idle wanders every fifteen seconds for five seconds. So, in other words, for fifteen seconds its pretty smooth at 800rpm then it drops for five seconds to between 6-700rpm. I have the TPS set correctly, no faults showing on ECU? Any ideas, what have i over looked? Cheers David
  22. Autos aint slow, 4.9sec 0-60 from a 1990 with only exhaust, filter and chip. No boost increase.
