  4. hmmm i read about a det sensor bypass, not a good thing to have apparantly. couldnt see the other part that plugs in
  5. slightly off topic, but i created the thread so its allowed. been tinkering again, wots the connector with the resistor? and which one is the dett sensor bit?

  8. we all like to tinker with our cars im sure, but lately its turning out to be almost be an obsession. got home at 4, straight out to the car and have only just come in due to lack of light. todays project.... finished installing an alpine subwoofer in the boot. will spend the next few hrs reading up/looking at this website to see what i can do next. if i cant think of anything then i'll just have to wash/hoover her again tomorow.
  9. without taking a blowtorch to the engine, it aint going to 80, i did that last test after a 20 min run and leaving the engine running for 10 mins
  10. found a setting that will give me all the o2 sensor gauges, will retest again tomorrow
  11. connectors cleaned and screw adjusted thanks guys
  12. ok ive been brave and taken the yellow cover off, but cant see any screw to adjust?? i am looking at the right thing?........
  13. just had a look at adjusting the base idle, found the yellow bit but darent pull it it out, can only just get my fingers to it and can see problems getting it back in!
  14. cheers dude, will have a tinker in a bit, daft question but would resetting the ecu get me out of safety boost?
  15. warmed up version, cylinders are fine, turned em off 1 at a time to test. definatly running in safety boost tho, just been for a good blast up to brecon (another £50 of petrol gone)
  16. are u sposed to drive with it hooked up? tryed it for a few mins but ran like a dog, so i pulled it out, also read that timing was sposed to be 15, in the playback of the short run it fluctuated between 25 and 45????? was hoping to get to the bottom of my lack of boost with this, but no luck so far
  17. hooked it up earlier, didnt change anything seeing as i didnt really know wot i was doing. over to the experts for an opinion of how it looks
  18. no idea what im doing with it, but i now have datascan+leads if anyone needs to hook up
  19. 2 thirds paint/1third water is what i always recommend when ive plastered something. didnt take my own advice once and used neat emulsion, had a nightmare with it because when i second coated, all the first coat peeled off as i rolled. u can always unibond where the covings going to stop the suction. i always use tile adhesive for putting coving up, its ideal for it
  20. sorry, was sure i read somewhere that u had to take the engine out to do it
  21. my advice............. let zedworld do it, its an engine out job to do it properly
  22. i had the same to do a few weeks ago, took one look at the ecu and thought "yikes im not touching that" so left it out. it will work fine without it, u just wont get the full functions of the timer, but it will still do the job its sposed to do
  23. i took me zed upto zedworld a few weeks ago for a conzultz test due to the boost not giving me the kick it used to be. jeff diagnosed the problem as retarded timing and put it right, all was good for a few hundred miles, but now its gone back to lacking power. is it possible for the the timing to go out in that short a time? i know the engine was rebuilt about 7000 miles ago so can only ssuming the timing belt was replaced then. also it has new hybrid turbos fitted any ideas please
  24. i switched to bt a few months ago, was with virgin, upgraded to 50 meg with the "super hub" after a few weeks of it cutting out all the time and countless phone calls i finally got thru to someone who told me the truth. he said his did it all the time too and there were loads of problems the same as mine, so i had to downgrade all the way to 10 meg just to get my old modem back, binned the lot in the end and swapped to bt 40 meg which is faultless so far. as for tv, i cancelled sky the other day cos i very rarely watch it
