  1. Hi there I dont know if anyone knows me. I am a member here for the last 15 years. I have been inactive for the last 8 years. My car is a 1990 Twin Turbo and it has been off road for the last 8 years. Even a mouse used my engine as a home :) Last 3 years i started bit by bit fixing it again. I change pistons, fuel pump, fuel regulators etc. Car is equipped with Greddy TD-06 20G turbos, 840cc Sard injectors, Greddy 3 Row Intercooler, the list is endless Last week I manage to start it up and took it for a spin and OMG. 1,8 bar of boost!!!! That was sick !!!! The acceleration, the power, Ohh My God!!! I was shocked to see the boost go that high. I try to control it using my BLITZ SBC-ID boost controller and nothing. I was getting steady 1.8 bar of boost. So after investigating more, i discovered that the blitz solenoid harness was eaten by the mouse and as a result the solenoid was letting boost jump at 1.8 bar. After fixing it, i took the car again for a spin and so far i manage to adjust the boost controller to work up to 1.2 bar. Honestly, i could have never got the feeling of 1.8 bar if it wasn't this mouse :) Now i have to play around more and see if i can get the boost controller to boost at to that range, then i will take it to the dyno. I believe i should be around 750rwhp + but you never know until you see the numbers. My brother with Greddy TD-05 16G and 60 Shot of NOS did 690rwhp. But this one feels a lot faster. I will keep you informed.
  2. MAF in the middle (which is the stock setup) is good for up to 500hp. Anything above that you need twin MAF or at least the MAF at left or right side so you can run more boost. I choose the second solution cause i didnt have a second MAF.
  3. Basically i havent taken my car to the dyno. But my brother took his Z and manage 690 horses (at the wheels). His car was equipped with a Greddy TD05 16G kit. Mine was faster than his at 1.45bar with the Greddy TD06 20G. But now after my rebuild i will raise the boost 2bar and i will be close to 800+ at the wheels without NOS and more than 1000 with 150 shot of NOS. (Approx.) The cars are totally insane. You can really feel the G forces when you step on the gas and is so fun to drive. Now i am at the stage of rebuilding my engine and in few months i will fire her up.
  4. After many years of inactivity i decided to rebuild my twin ****ing bitch. I am a member for many years but in the last few years due to family reasons (building a house, having a child, and blah blah blah) i ignored my Z completely. My 300ZX was equipped with twin Greddy TD-06 20G´s on stock engine and i was able to reach 750hp at 1.35bar. Now i am aiming for 2bar with 150shot of NOS and a fully rebuild engine. Me and my brother have another project going on. 300ZX drag car with twin Greddy T-72 turbochargers aiming close to 1300hp. I will keep you guys informed. Glad to be back boyz.
  5. Reason is nice to create patters. However the new version of Battery (Drum machine) should be a kick ass application with its 15Gbyte library of sounds. I am planning also getting the Yamaha AW2400 digital recorder. I want to make a small studio in my house cause I really want to create something.
  6. As i was browsing the Web i find out that there are lots and lots of powerful software. Reason 3, Recycle, Battery, Reaktor, Cubase etc. I am thinking of buying the EMU 1616m laptop sound card so i can connect my KORG Triton as a MIDI keyboard and start putting down my inspiration. I am using Reason 3 for the last 3 days and i can say that its a very nice program with lots of nice effects. I am also looking into download Native Instruments Komplete 4 (25Gigabytes) and my download rate is 8kB/sec (damn) It will take me months to download it. Anyone has it? Or any other music software you recommend?
  7. Mac, are you still on Greddy type-s wastegates? I need to upgrade my springs to hold 2bar for my car but i cannot find any springs here in my country for the type-s greddy ones. I am stack at 18PSI
  8. Well this weekend couldnt wait any longer and decided to take my car on the highway for some high revs and check the max boost i can work on. I manage to hit only 16 PSI max boost (the wastegates springs needs replacement to hold more boost) but let me tell you that at 16 PSI the car is a killer. I started from 2nd gear (went up to 7K before blinking my eyes) changed to 3rd gear and before taking a breath i hit the rev limiter. I said damn....Its insane. You can really feel the G forces hitting you all over. I cannot imagine how it will feel at 2Bar that i am planning to use when i change the springs. The only problem at the moment is the MPG. I've been to the gas station 3 times this weekend because the car needs tuning. I need to check my timing, one of the oxygen sensors went bad and is reading a lean condition causing the ecu to send plenty of fuel at one side of the engine and also one of the downpipes is loose. Other than that i am very happy with the power is producing at 16PSI. Its enough to destroy anycar out there.
  9. Thanks!. I almost forgot that women choose my bday to celebrate theirs :)
  10. Jason whats up man. Weather is lovely. However when i drive it around i want low tempretures because i want to raise the boost to its max. Those turbos are efficient at 2bar and thats how much i am going to give them. But i need the weather to change from sunny to cold. :duffer: Even for a day. Thats all i need
  11. I will not keep the current color of the cover. I have something else in mind :)
  12. After many many months of swearing, sleepless nights, and being broke most of the time i finally started my car for first time. I waisted two batteries until i crank it up and that because the Crank Angle Sensor was on the wrong position. I broke the pin that alligns the CAS with the cam few months back and i put it there temporarily but i forgot all about it. Was cranking it up for many minutes and didnt want to start. It was so frustrating because after all this job done to the car you feel so hopeless and dont know where to start. I sit down for few minutes trying to relux and think why is not starting up. Then it came to my mind that it might be the CAS. I took it off, align it, put it back hoping to get it right and give it another shot. THAT WAS IT. Starts up at once. !!!!!!!!!!!!! I have no exhaust system and no downpipes yet and cannot take it to the street. But it sounds badass. I will make a small clip tomorrow with my Sony digital camera and post it so you can hear a mean machine. I hope that it will rape the streets when i drive it. Here is a few shots of the engine
  13. Hi all. Its been a while since i put the engine back on the car. But the real PITA now has started. I only today managed to put my 76mm custom turbo pipes after lots of cutting and welding. I am having so difficult times trying to find the right place to put the keys around the turbo. There are only mm's away from the chassis and putting your hands inside there its like trying putting a mini skirt on a big fat lady. Also the turbo hoses is just 1mm away from the exhaust manifolds and i am trying to put some insulator around the hoses and manifolds to prevent the heat expanding and with the engine in the car that was also very difficult job The good news is that i did it. I still have few things to do before firing her up (electronics, downpipes and putting the external wastegates).
  14. We replicate the Greddy ones. Its the only way to make those turbos fit with the stock engine mounts. If you notice from the pictures the engine mounts are slightly shaved.
  15. Thanks guys. However the only thing that matters is horsepower. If we don't get what we expect and thats between 850 and 1000 horsepower (at the engine) on boost only then i'll shoot myself. We did something that nobody attempted before (i mean the internal setup) on this engine and we are hoping that is going to work. Cant tell you more until i see the result.
  16. Hi Jason I am hoping to beat my borthers car. :) And if i do it will be reeeeally scary
  17. I hope to put it in the car during the weekend.
  18. No it doesnt. If its done properly then it can last forever. Think of a Harley Davidson bikes. Most of the parts on the engine are chromed and if maintained correclty they look like new. I know because i own one.
  19. What did you use for the inserts? Did you paint them with chrome paint?
  20. Here. Speedometer wasnt working but i guess we must went up to 260km Video
  21. The Manual ECU will not work on a car with Auto Gearbox The Auto ECU will work on a Manual car BUT even that is not recommended. As far as i know the AUTO Ecu has different timing/fuel map at different RPM's than the Manual one which gives the car a different response and also you are more likely to detonate (if you change to Manual gearbox with Auto Ecu) So if you are changing gearbox from Auto --> Manual or Manual --> Auto you need to get the right ECU.
  22. Actually its better to do a flow test before porting and after porting. But since no one does a flow test here where i leave i can only assume that what i am doing is right. :D I did my research before starting doing this job and i believe i am on the right track.
  23. Right now the exhaust manifolds are at least 1mm smaller than the heads. And yes you are right. If its bit bigger its even better.
