artexing in old houses contain asbestos so be carefull cause it costs a fortune to get rid of

for an idea of cost of materials, go and get the new B&Q catalouge (its all good gear) it has everything you need, at decent prices (usually cheaper than trade)

shower baths are the way to go, expect to spend upto £800 for a decent shower bath and screen decent toilet pans, cistern and all fittings could cost upto £200 then a wash basin (bathroom sink lol) could cost upto and over £200 tiles can be anything, then there is all the hidden costs like flooring, ceiling, moving radiators or just changing for a towel rail could cost upto £300 or more then there is the labour which could be upto £50 an hour if not more, a decent plumber would take upto three days to fit all this (without tiling and flooring and ceiling) properly with copper pipe (usually 8 hour days) we just finished a job for a lady which cost her all together in excess of £6000 of course you could use cheaper materials, but im guessing that mrs craig david has taste lol
