NZR: Phpbb files
Just use FrontPage (some things might not look quite right though) or better still Notepad :) Once it is saved then rename it back to .tpl job done, or when saving in FrontPage type the name in quotes and add .tpl eg "yourfile.tpl" (unless I've completely misunderstood what you are trying to do) :D

Why didn't I miss the telegraph pole!! :-(
Hi, I live in East Grinstead but go through now and again, hopefully it will be nice again soon!

Why didn't I miss the telegraph pole!! :-(
Thanks Andy, yep bodyshop has said new panels so MJP will be getting an order from me shortly :) The turrets look ok, but I'll leave that to the experts I guess, thanks for the tip though! Ah ok, yep they are fine, the pole went right in the middle, everything at the sides seems ok which at the moment, every bit that is ok is good news to me :)

Why didn't I miss the telegraph pole!! :-(
Hi Dave, thats a very generous offer! Unfortunatley you are about 260 miles away from me! I think I've sorted most of the bits from RiceRocketUK (whos just up the road from me), called MJP earlier for a price on the slam panel/headlight panel/radiator support, a but pricey but not too bad I guess, they suggested it was better to buy new than chop out a car, and so far have managed just about everything used. I'm sure someone else will jump at the chance :)

Why didn't I miss the telegraph pole!! :-(
Thanks for the reply Andy: Ok just went and checked this, so should be 704, was more like 640! All looks ok, nothing broken as far as I can see, not too convinced about that though as that cross member is not right. Can I ask what the reason for this would be, is it not possible to weld/attach one cut from another car? I think the impact has just pushed/pulled the outer wing back/out slightly from look of it, not had a chance to get it off yet. Getting it back on the road will do me ;) A couple are a bit squashed, probably try to just source standard bits rather than new shiney Smithy ones :) I think it's just the aircon rad/fan that needs replacing and the odd bent pipe so may as well keep it, but I'll see. Thanks :)

How to remove ignition barrel?
I have 2 keys, one proper 300ZX one for the ignition, doesn't work on anything else, the other one is a nissan one, works on the drivers door and nothing else, nice!

Why didn't I miss the telegraph pole!! :-(
Well this is after yesterday afternoon and this mornings efforts (when it wasn't raining or snowing! Not too pretty! I'll try and take the wings off in the morning if I can get a couple of hours off before it's picked up in the afternoon (well that's the plan at the moment). There are a load of pipes )quite a few bent ones) all over the place but I guess once the radiator(s) are out things will be a little easier to work on (but the bodyshop will be doing that I guess as it will be out of my hands then). List of bits keeps getting bigger though! Bit of a pain about the headlights they are fine apart from the brackets being broken on both!

Why didn't I miss the telegraph pole!! :-(
Hi! Well he reckons it's all fixable and thought parts would be the most expensive thing, so good job I found this place :-) Putting together a list (which is growing as I strip everything down). Cars going in Monday for a proper look and quote, I'll finish off stripping as much as I can in the morning if it doesn't blimen rain! 10mm socket gets you a long way with these cars :-)

Why didn't I miss the telegraph pole!! :-(
Spoke to Paul, he's having a look tomorrow so I'll have a go at removing the bumper (well what is left) in the morning. Looks like the wing has moved from the gap inbetween the bonnet but couldn't find any "telltales" so not good but I'll see what he says, trying to keep positive!

Why didn't I miss the telegraph pole!! :-(
At the moment I'm not going to go down the insurance route, going to see what's what get a couple of quotes, opinions seem to be it's fixable (on here and people who've looked at it) so I'll see what happens.

Why didn't I miss the telegraph pole!! :-(
No leather ;) I think the main thing I need to establish is the chassis being out of alignment, going to try and speak to a guy in my road who runs a bodyshop (completely forgot about him, thanks Rob :))

Why didn't I miss the telegraph pole!! :-(
As far as I can see the wings look ok, the main damage seems to be the slam panel area. Does anyone have a good reference for the different panels/parts so at least I know what I'm looking at! Also any good bodyshops around my area, I live about 10 miles from Gatwick, car isn't going to travel very far at the moment though :( Got to start getting some quotes really and then start hunting parts down, thanks for the offer Dave C I might take you up on it!

Why didn't I miss the telegraph pole!! :-(
Thanks, that is the sort of picure I was looking for to get an idea of what is/isn't there, I have managed to get the bonnet open, silly question but what is actual chassis and what isn't? Everything looks a bit squashed in there but I think maybe it might be repairable? I've got a friend coming over later who's worked on a few (Nissan mechanic) so might be able to shed a bit more light as to whats what. Feeling a bit better that I did this morning though, thanks guys :)

Why didn't I miss the telegraph pole!! :-(
Thanks for the replies guys, the car still drives (well away from the pole and on and off a trailer), think the fan was rubbing on something though didn't have the engine on too long to find out. I would love to be able to fix her up but I don't have the skills to be able to do it, I'm trying to get in touch with some people today to get some idea of costs, again I'd want to avoid insurance but it might get into silly money. I'll try and get the bonnet up later and have a good look around. Biggest worry is the chassis I guess as that will be the big bucks I presume?

Why didn't I miss the telegraph pole!! :-(
OK so had a bit of a run in with a telegraph pole on a slippery bit of road, wasn't being silly and I'm still kicking myself! Nobody else involved except me and the pole, only my pride was hurt! I've had the car less than a month so ok I've not really had a chance to get too attached, but it's my first Z and I really liked it. I'm just thankful nothing else was on the road at the time! Going to call the insurance company a bit later on but would appreciate any opinions as I don't know where to start! To top it all off I just paid out for 2 new tyres on Monday and an Induction Kit off Danny on Tuesday, don't think I'll have much use for that :( I used to like the snow!
-
tyre prices
Paid £340 fitted for 2 * 265/35/18 Goodyear Eagle F1 tyres today, which I didn't think was too bad!?! First purchase for the Z, had it less than a month, 60k service next!

Powerflow Exhausts any good?
I've had Powerflow systems fitted to my last two cars, not sure what I'm doing with the Z yet, just want to make sure nothing blows up before I start spending money! Both were done at RSR in Redhill, a couple of friends have had them done there as well, no problems, the guy who does them is good, so once the sales guys have done their bit you're good to go! Main thing is you can choose exactly what you want, ok not sure about the performance aspect of it all as they just make it to your spec. Always been a bit dubious of pricey Jap kit and a pipe is a pipe to me! I guess it's all in the quality though, maybe try to check out some work they've done, all the pipes/backboxes are Powerflow but your local "approved fitter" may be good or bad, good luck with whatever you choose!

Toad Ai606
Think I'm set on the Toad always heard good things about them, can anybody reccomend an installer around my area, live in West Sussex, about 15 mins away from Gatwick?
-
Toad Ai606
Thanks! Looks like it will probably be my first purchase then, well apart from the new battery lol :)
-
Toad Ai606
Good good :D Just read a couple of post about central locking etc and wondered if it might cause any problems.
-
Toad Ai606
Sounds like a good price to me! Where was this from? Just bought myself a Z and need to get a CAT1 sorted! (Membership on it's way lol ;)) Mines a Jap TT, shouldn't make any difference wiring wise should it?
-
Insurance - how much do you pay
Just bought my Z, £1300 for a 93 Jap TT, standard apart from 18's, 22 and 4 years NCB, lowest I could get but still pretty painful! Got it through Firebond, so far so good!

Being a Vauxhall fan myself (about to jump into 300ZX ownership though :-D) this is a good Vaux site, www.migweb.co.uk :)
