Just sick of it Al, ans I start Uni full time tomorrow to do nursing, NEEED a reliable safe car as come the crap weather, I'm gonna be on placements all over Teesside - I don't fancy driving to say, Northallerton, in a car thats gonna die on me in the snow.....

We had a meet up at Teesside Park last summer, about 8 or 10 of us, was really nice to meet everyone - no-one's really wanted a meet up since then tho. But I'd be pleased to meet you newbies locally one Sunday if you're free - we'll be in whatever car we have at that time tho (not a Zed, :hammer:)

cheers Allan, done some research online, there's a helpful forum and a local member offered to take a look for us. I guess if the rozzers use em as patrol cars they must have something relatively reliable about em. Just getting fed up with the garage we bought the Saab from - they offered us a swap but don't have anything within our budget and want us to give them more money. I'd rather set fire to my own face than give them more of our hard earned cash....

I've recently been to look at a vauxhall omega. http://www.gumtree.com/p/cars-vans-motorbikes/vauxhall-omega-2000/88124987 was a nice car new brakes new exhaust stacks of receipts pleasant people too. Just one problem the car pulls to the left and I've read up and its a common probelm. Has anyone had or could offer any good advice i would be grateful. It seems the garage we bought the saab from dont seem to have much in and the consensus is that they are after more money so were a bit stuck.

The difficulty is that I have a house, bills etc and a 5 year old to feed. And no family within 300 miles of me! I have no choice but to start the course and hope the Uni offers us some additional funding to help us out, or I will have to quit and find another job. I don't really wanna put my training off even longer given I'm pushing 40....:wheelchair:

Where are you wanting to fly from? Coz Teesside is pretty expensive these days. KLM used to do a lot of flights from there coz I used to fly them with work, but they cut back their services a few years back. Would you consider Leeds Bradford or Newcastle? Or even Manchester? Try the usual operators, like Jet2, FlyBe, EasyJet, RyanAir etc and check their routes

Its a red one in Acklam, definitely a prancing horse badge on it! No chance of us getting another Zed for a while, I start my nurse training on Monday, and we've already found out that we're not entitled to £3k of funding we were told we would get. Gonna have to try to survive, the 3 of us inc Tash, on about £10k a year. Pretty sure its not gonna be possible, but the Uni are trying to find us more funding from somewhere... Haven't seen Chewy in ages - Marc would prob cry lol, we still miss that Celica, I think he was mad to sell it! Did Chewy keep it the same colour?

There's a red one parked up by Maddren Brothers car sales in Billingham fairly often, might be one of the previously mentioned ones, and there's one on a driveway in Acklam thats got a Ferrari badge on the rear lights. Looks tidy but I'd have to trespass to put one of the club cards on the windscreen!

Went back to the garage today, the bloke who I fell out with was there, he was perfectly pleasant. But they don't have anything within my budget that I want. Like I said previously, they have an Almera, but the price seems to be fluctuating between £1695 and £1295, and at £1295, its more than I'd wanna spend on one tbh... So, we've left it that he'll contact me when he gets new stock in and I'll keep in touch and see what happens from there. :yawn:

Yes, and economical and practical and.....sorry, I fell asleep there....lol Bit the like Corolla I had for a few weeks, and the Polo.... But its not the Saab so hopefully it could be better...
