  1. I'd definitely be up for a meet. Could well be my last one as i think i'll be selling the Zed soon :(

I'll try my best to come! Hopfully I'll finally be getting a wing and wing mirror this week! Then all i need is fuel! :p
  3. Yea, the log book says red, i think its one of those stupidly named colours, Indian Red i think its called, but its clearly brown :p
  4. Well as many of you may know late last year i had my mk4 escort stolen and burnt out. Since then i've been using the Zed to get to work and back which has not been cheap. So i decided to buy a cheap car off ebay to use for work, and this is what i bought Its a 1.8 16v VW Passat GT which i've named "The Brown Bomber". 230,000 miles on the clock, 2 previous owners (husband and wife), full service history. Bought for £230, took it for an MOT Monday, one month early, with the intention of just getting a list of problems to sort out to get it through, and it actually FLEW through! Only one advisory for a slightly corroded brake line. How surprised was i!!! Hopfully nothing goes wrong now! :p
  5. No ABS on this model. Took the old master cylinder off this morning and bought a new master cylinder so i'm going to replace that and see how it goes. Only £40, i hope it fixes the problem!!
  6. I've done this! haha. Also with my old classic mini i was tightening the possitive battery connector and dropped the spanner onto the negative. Lots of sparks! managed to knock it off before it damaged anything, but i did burn my thumb when i picked up the spanner not realising how hot it would be :p
  7. The lid was off and had plenty of fluid in at all times. That's what i was thinking, if there's nothing coming out of the bleed nipples, not even air, the pressure must be escaping from somewhere, and if there's no leaking pipes, it could only be the master cylinder couldn't it?
  8. Not my Zed, my sisters Daewoo Matiz. Yesterday i changed the front pads on my sisters car and thought as a precaution i'd bleed the brakes too....oh how i wish i hadnt! The problem i'm having is there is NOTHING coming out, no air, no brake fluid, nothing! Pump the pedal and it goes straight to the floor with very little resistance. I've tried everything i can think of. First i tried only bleeding the front calipers, then as that didnt work, tried bleeding them all in sequence, furthest from master cylinder to the closest, no joy. I even tried attaching a hand pump (that sucks) to the bleeding hose to try and suck the fluid out and nothing!! Theres no leaks in the system that i can see, no fluid coming out from any of the pipes. I'm at a total loss!! Anyone got any idea's? Need to get it sorted ASAP, the car is needing for work and to carry my infant nephew around.
  9. AAhh yes, i should have read properly. if it was the fuel cut off it would turn over.
  10. I had this with my Saxo, there is a fuel cut off switch in the top right of the engine bay, looks like a little black box with a red cap on it. check you havnt knocked that? i think you take the cap off and press the button to reset it.
  11. Just a couple of pics as i have loads haha. These are the best.
  12. I did the barcelona bangers in 2010. Bought an old Renault 5 1.4 for £10. Started in Calais to Leon to Nice to Barcelona, with a little trip to Monacco thrown in, and it was the weekend after the grand prix so bonus! We took the overnight ferry back to Portsmouth. I'll upload the pics i took :)
  13. Wasnt me, i was in evesham. I have never seen another Zed around cov! :(
  14. The only way i can think is that they come straight up at the back with a couple of 90 degree bends. Would be good to have this mystery solved!
  15. The caretaker of the community center reported the two cars to the police and as mine was the only 4 door escort reported stolen they called me to tell me one had been found. But on a brighter note, one of my mates is now doing recovery's and scrap, so if he can get it out from where it is with his transit he's having it and giving me a few quid for it. Going to see if the police can get us in touch with the owners of the frontera too see if they want the same.
  16. You might be right, didnt have much of a look at it.
  17. Found my escort along with a range rover that had also been stolen Not quite the outcome i was hoping for, but not at all surprised :( :(
  18. I'll be there! I'll be working until about 6am again, but who needs sleep! Hopefully no parking ticket from the services this year :p
  19. Whats and RB26? lol I know its the engine but what is it? :p
  20. Is there any difference between a pass, fail and advisory sheet? i.e the old ones are different colours?
  21. Have a look in the Midlands section matey, theres a meet being organised for November :)
  22. I hope it doesnt snow! I only have the Zed at the minute, and its going to be a nightmare to get to work! :'( haha
  23. Bloody Hell, someone else in coventry! Never seen you out and about. I'm in Keresley lol It's nearly time for my MOT, and with the exhaust i've got on mine any info would be a great help ;) ;)
  24. If you leave me details of where its parked and times your not home, i'll pop round and make sure its still safe and sound for you :innocent: :whistling:  :whistling: But yea, i am glad its a relatively easy fix :)
