Another vote for the Super Drager here. Great sound but not too obtrusive.

My Z started running in safety boost last night. Was running fine beforehand. No funny noises, no detonation sounds. Nothing seemed wrong after safety boost kicked in either. Any ideas? Quick fixes? Cheers, Chris

I can't believe you're letting this twat get away with what he's done! I think a situation like this would have been best dealt with by telling him to sling his hook there and then. Let him sue/chase/arrest you for knocking off his already-knackered held-on-with-sticky-tape wing morror if he thinks he can. What a proper tool. Definitely make a complaint about him to the police. Thanks. What sort of price are we talking typically for ecu remap?

Assuming induction kit, exhaust and boost raised to, say 12-13psi.... What does anyone recommend? Install an Apexi AFC (or similar) or a chip, or have the ECU remapped? The idea being to avoid lean running and det, and get a few extra bhp too of course :) while not really planning to take the tune to any further stages. I await your wisdom... Yours, Chris

Yeah it's engine work. Don't really give a stuff about spoilers and side skirts and all that... I'll have a nose around Redline and the Zen garage, thanks guys. I expected a few more places round Essex dealing with Nissans and other Jap cars. I've seen plenty of Zs and Skylines so they must get serviced somewhere. Cheers, Chris

Yeah I was afraid it was 2500. Oh well, buy a Z and be broke for life...

PLEASE tell me it's 250 for auto box upgrading, not 2500!!!! And can someone give me an idea of roughly how much hp coresponds to each stage of tuning?

Thanks for the tips all who contributed. One last question though.... Is there any mileage limit on an engine to be tuned? Or will any well serviced engine be suitable?

I'm assuming the whole turbo system has to be completely serviced before all this happens. New hoses, seals, oil change etc. Anything else?

Oh i see! It's all becoming clear. So chipping the ECU takes advantage of induction kits, exhausts etc but to raise boost pressure I need a boost controller. Have I got this right?

Ah ha so it's just like an adjustable chip thingummy for boost pressure then? So why have a boost controller? What's wrong with just chipping the ECU for boost as well as an other mods?

So how does it control boost? Is it something the driver adjusts on the go to get more or less boost? Or is it some kind of electronic thing that allows the turbos to work through a wider rev range??? I'm confused here!!??!! As always...

What exactly is a boost controller? What does it do? I'm guessing it's something to do with controlling boost lol And finally, when is it suitable or advantageous to fit one?

How do the power and torque characteristics of the Z's engine actually alter with tuning? Say for example, I popped an induction kit and exhaust on my TT, would it go all top end? or would i still have a nice wide power band?

So what do all u guys with de-cat exhausts do come MOT time? Switch exhausts every time??????

So would I fail the MOT for not having a cat regardless of emissions?
