  2. hello mark, about 2 months ago my car was firing on 5. it wasn't the ptu (swapped with another) it wasn't the coilpacks (interchanged) it wasn't the coilpack or injector connectors even though they were green as the hulk before i cleaned them with an electrical solvent-amberclense/FE10  it wasn't the spark plugs either. unfortunately for me my no. 4 injector failed so it was over to the zen garage, plenum off, new gaskets, new bypass pipes, new injector. running sweet now :) it cost me a fair amount of dosh mainly for labour as i didn't fancy taking the plenum off myself and then realising i had no way of getting the new seals/pipes/gaskets that would and did break. i hope it isn't the injector as this is the most expensive outcome. but don't count it out like i did! hth
  3. sorry mate. not much good i'm afraid. however a very helpful lady at courierssomething or other.com has just told me this... http://www.bookmein.net has a service on it which sends a text message directly to a load of delivery drivers (100's apparently). If it so happens that they are collecting or delivering near you they give you call to try arrange getting your goods onboard their van. they say the goods are still insured up to £10,000. Basically your speaking to a driver and sorting the details out directly with him, cutting out the courier company, and paying a fraction of the price. All sounds to good to be true but going to give it a go anyway and see what happens. Check out the website, if its all legit what a great idea for the rest of us.
  4. i've been in touch with a couple of companies and when i said to them the size and weight of the object prices went to 3 figures. have you got some links, contact info for some more reasonable courriers? maybe i've asked the wrong people.
  5. is it true that the midges are like mini man-eating lions on steroids with wings? :( its not the smallest of things to deliver so no worries dave. thank you anyway.
  6. ...on their way to the south east? :smash: ok so this may be the longest of all the long shots in the history of long shotting but there's payment and tinnies in it :duffer: yep, i'm this far (very small gap between finger and thumb) to paypalling ronnie the money for his tailgate section. the only problem is size and distance :( let the you must be joking begin...
  7. what thicker oil did you use chris? i'm on the one that ryan@ztech uses after a 60k service, cant remember the bloody name now, but will swap to a thicker one when i decat if thats the general feeling?
  8. noticed some people have changed to a thicker engine oil after having fitted decats/free flowing exhuast to help prevent turbo seal damage. is this the norm?

  12. not looking for any bass from 6"x4" or 6" speakers. i have a very nice sub to sort that out for me ;) thanks for the advice guys. Chris found this if it helps.. http://www.incarexpress.co.uk/view_product.php?partno=GTO6426E never ordered anything from their site though, just looked a good price ;)
  13. thanks matey, will probably go for the infinity's i reckon.
  14. and 6"x4"'s for that matter too. Been looking at Infinity for both as they seem to get most bang for ya buck... http://www.caraudiobargains.co.uk/product_info.php?cPath=55_71_77&products_id=298 http://www.caraudiobargains.co.uk/product_info.php?cPath=55_71_79&products_id=311 also i cant seem to find an actual 6" speaker. do 16cm(6.25") fit or am i having a blondie moment? cheers, Tom.
  15. had a look at the old keyring thread and everytime one of us tries to make a list of names people get droppped off. good intentions and all that but me and steve J, i think it was, dissappeared after just one reply on page 2! http://www.300zx.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=63819&page=2&pp=15 maybe it should be sticky/poll so you can just add your name to the same list if your owed a keyring and then MTL or Mac1 can delete them as they're posted? i know you guys are snowed under by the way with all us whinging at ya.
  16. i was on the list from a different thread about a week ago! still need one too. dont mind waiting for the next lot.

  18. ok lads, i'll give it another go.
  19. thanks for the help guys, its good to know there's people out there that have gone through the same thing! boldy i'm positive its not the bulbs as they work in the LHS position. someone at work said bad eatrh too so i'll check connections. chrisp, i did have a fog conversion done but guess what? the rear fog switch does naff all when operated with the other lights on. i.e nothing 'extra' lights up when viewed from the rear and switch turned on? uh oh. birks & sgt C, i found the relay box your talking about and assumed it was part of the UK rear fog conversion work, as my housemates j-spec zed hasn't had this work done and doesn't have the relay & extra wiring. actually there are two small black boxes on mine now i think about it, one relay (can here it clicking when operating switch in dash), and also what looks like a connector box? both stuck together. and both have two blue wires, a red wire and a black earth each. i thought this had to be the problem but the trouble is when i completely removed the relay boxes and extra wiring, basically de modding it back to jap spec, the problem remained... the standard rear lights on the RHS only come on when braking and then obviously the brake lights come on with them. plus the dash 'LIGHTS' still illuminates when braking even with the cars lights turned off. def not right. ...i reckon someone has managed to wire the rear RHS lights to the brake pedal instead of the light switch but i have no idea where to begin looking or fixing? any more ideas lads cos i'm 80% sure its not the relay/rear fog conversion wiring at the back, or a bad earth. having said that, whoever did the work might have messed up the wiring at the front... might explain why the rear fog switch doesn't put any added lighting on.
  20. shit my secret's out! at least no one knows about my burberry gear knob....
  21. :headvswal thanks legrath, should've checked there first.
  22. but unlike under the bonnet it will have jap descriptions. as i grudgingly found out yesterday when i was trying to sort out my lights. :smash: if you find a fuse descriptiopn in english for the footwell box can ya post it up??
