The theory says 14.6 at a terminal of 96.08 for mine. (spec as sig) Used 1430Kg, taken from Brian Longs Book . Anyone got a closer weight figure? Well I know you are all having a bit of fun here but you are a wicked crew really! Im going to stick up for the underdog here!! Consider the following:- I still meet members of the public in my line of work who cannot sign their name, they can only make a cross. English born and bred too. Many foreign nationals living here although they speak passable English, cannot write it at all. Maybe just maybe we might all be missing something?? Does Best Wing equate to West Wing?? Nismo, just turn up and pay at the entrance, £10 I think, then drive round to the Cafe area. If you want to run then I suggest getting there around 9.00am to get signed on.(£15 I think). See above posts for advice etc. There are virtually no Joe publics on RWYB days so loadsa space. If you dont want to run then suit yourself what time you arrive. Its not silly to ask mate. Its silly to not ask. Santa Pod is based on an old airfield, and there are acres of parking. IF you turn up for a Big Meet or Car Show then the whole place will be jammed with cars making it tricky to find mates ,club cars etc. However Sat and Sun are just RYWB days . Thats run what ya brung if you dont know. There will not be many people relative to the size so as Chunk says we can all park up somewhere near the Cafe. Remember to dress warm as its Feb and the wind blows at the Pod with a vengance even in August never mind Feb. The Cafe serves good basic and reasonably priced food of the Chips with everything genre. The whole idea of going early season is to have a social meet and let everyone see what it is all about, so if you dont want to have a go then just watch those who do. Hopefully there will be one or two of the seriously quick cars from this club present to show us the way! Then there will be the also rans(like me) who are just happy to be out there doing something, instead of trailing round IKEA or taking garden rubbish to the tip. Until you turn up there is no way of knowing what else might be running. Crazy bikes? probably. Other rapid Jap stuff?? Likely. Proper drag cars? well I dunno its a bit early. Lots of like minded petrolheads having a FUN day out?? Deffo. PS For anyone thinking of having a go for the first time check out the Santa Pod website for info on what to do etc. And dont forget Your Driving Licence

I use a Clarke 151TE turbo bought from Machine Mart for £200. This copes with thin stuff like sills, bottom of wings and med stuff like chassis rails. But on top of that you really need to go for a refillable type of gas bottle not the disposable ones. If you are looking to make /repair heavy stuff like gates then I think you will be better with an electric arc machine for that .Thats wot I use anyway for that kind of job. So there is my opinion as a dedicated amateur restorer. More dosh spent than this will get you better gear, but then you have to do a lot of welding to justify its cost. Nice Migatronic machine?? Yes please if I win the lotto this week.
