  5. hi all, i have a problem with my clutch. after sitting in traffic and pressing up and down on the pedal alot the biting point got higher and higher. and it also went rock hard :D any help would be gratefully appreciated.
  6. i tried disconnecting the stock boost sensor and it worked! for about 3 minutes. it drove up and down the road fine. i was chuffed but as i pulled back in bang there goes the fuse again. wtf is going on. very confused any thoughts? Daveman
  7. hi mate thanks for getting back to me. could you be more specific on the location of this solenoid and what does it do? thanks again
  8. i have recently installed a rebuilt engine in my 90tt manual. she runs fine at standstill but as soon as i pull away the ign con fuse blows in the engine bay relay box. its the 10amp one. i have checked and checked for trapped wires, bad earths and even tried tilting engine and box and yanking on loom/connections and nothing. but soon as i pull away bang the fuse goes. was gonna disconnect the alternator and try and drive it then????? any ideas???
  9. thats what i thought but i double checked when i did mine and its just a bit of crap design. the shorter ones barely reach into the thread when they tighten up.
  10. same thing happened to me. stupid f*****g design bolt doesnt reach very far into block as it tightens up so theres alot of leverage on a small amount of thread. it was a pain but easy to fix. i think the helicoil was a WURTH one. and i used the same gaskets and there was no probs. good luck
  11. ahh, i have no reception in my village. give us a ring tomorrow sometime. dan
  12. you can give me a call if you want to talk about parts and prices. i am doing a 600 ish hp rebuild at the mo and can give you a good idea where to get parts and how much to pay.dan
  13. just have a good look in and around, dont think the heads are too bad just got to be careful not to catch valve seats. i would thoroughly recommend porting out the exhaust manifolds aswel because there even more restrictive than the heads. if you look inside them youll see what i mean, lumps and bumps everywhere. you can use the same tip for them but high speed as its cast iron. also trim up the gaskets for the new bigger ports when you fit them otherwise it will all have been a waste!!!!!! give us a shout if you want to ask anymore.
  14. that exactly what i did!!!!!!
  15. dont hold me to it but it tried a belt sander but they clogg up cause aliminium is soft. carbide tip with slow rpm is what you need.
  16. i know marston well, i am in houghton conquest!!!
  17. i ported my own heads with a carbide tip tool on a dremmel type drill, you need to match all inlet/outlets to the gaskets. its a real pain and time consuming but well worth it, you wouldnt believe how much metal you take out.
  18. i think if you have a peep at the lancer register youll find they have just as many probs with evos as zeds :)
  19. import performance transmissions in the u.s. full synchro/bearing kit for a few hundred quid then just find someone to build it for you.
  20. someone is bending the truth or i am bending the needles in my car. 160 in 4th, thats impressive even for me. told me to take it easy, just like your bruv did after you cleared the warning and he took it for a rag and said that was the fastest one he' been in, i bet with the turbo on full wack. i was in fith gear as we all know boosts the longest and hardest which was just too much im afraid. and that wish list has all now been attached to my car after a rebuild by a qualified mechanic who witnessed your handywork and says you are WRONG.
  21. you simply cannot leave pipes hanging off, doesnt matter what else happens.
  22. i have had a chance to look at the history of this forum and yes there has been alot of bad stuff and good stuff said. i accept people make mistakes, i spray cars for a living and when someone is not happy i put it right. what really annoys me is this guy said he was gonna pay up and when my mechanic had finished the job he changed his mind. i find this to be cowardly and all he was doing was hoping i would go away. if he said no in the first place i could of gone legal but now its i fixed it myself the solicitor said i dont have a leg to stand on. i just feel sad that there are still people in the car trade that wont own up to honest mistakes.
  23. thats the point, i can't with a keyboard.
  24. is it not a good idea to tell people about good and bad companies we all have dealings with and let them make up there own mind? my business runs on reputation as do most businesses, good or bad.
