  1. cool thanks
  2. with out looking i couldnt say for sure but the most common problem is the earth, as most consider any metal a good earth. so best thing to do is make sure the paint around your earth point is off so the earth goes straight to bare metal. I always use a tech screw which is a self drilling metal screw (obviously take the washer off of it first though). these screws are really good as easy to install plus very strong and secure. then i always paint over the top with some hammerite to ensure no rust.
  3. No mods at all.
  4. oh ok cheers, well they sent me 5/30 fully synthetic so will use that this time but you recommend semi next time? will it be ok to drain the current oil out, change the filter and replace with fully synthetic. as you can never get all the oil out and i know that you cant mix most hydraulic oils so just wondered if it was the same with engine oil.
  5. Does it matter if you have non synthetic oil in you engine and you then replace it with fully synthetic. do they mix?
  6. Well its sounds to me like you've decide you want a golf from reading your posts. Basically it depends what you want it for. as if your worried about the seats with your kids getting in and out, get the bora, as the gti your looking at has only three doors, so your for ever moving your seat to cram people in the back. Plus if you have the golf (other than the fact 90% of everyone you pass will be in the same car) you will rag it more because it has power but not enough to keep you happy. Where as the bora is more chilled out power, so it has plenty of power to over take with, but because its comfortable you will be less likely to use it. So for me your comparing a subaru to a 300, and part of the reason we all have 300's is that they rarer and classy in comparison. Plus majority of people are unsure what a 300 is where as everyone knows what a subaru is. for me I like to leave people wondering what they've just seen!

  12. What would recommend using on a 17" rim. currently running 255/40 on rear and 215/45 on front, but they are the buget tyres it came with and need replacing, as they are serious ditch finders
  13. Basically think my cats are about to give up and was just wondering where do i get decent replacement cats from preferbly high flow cats.
  14. Thanks but tried that for about five hours and still smoking well!
  15. Basically i've manage to fill my engine with dirty water, filling piston 1,3 and five and flooding one side of the engine. But because i wasnt near my house but then knew i had to act quickly before the rusting started, so used what i had which ended up to be diesel mixed with oil, so i used this to free my engine and now its running fine with no noises! (lucky me) but the problem is i was on my way to the MOT center, so now have no tax or MOT but have smoke coming from the exhasts, from the diesel and oil sitting in them! How do i get it out as dont think it will pass its omissions test like this!!
