  3. Hi All, Righty! I picked up a new diff off Gonzo's breaker and am half way through getting the knackered diff off my car!! Question is - is there anything I should do to the new diff that is going on whilst it is off the car? Thanks, Tom!

  8. Thanks for all the help guys. Planning on getting it all out this weekend and having a look :) How much would you be looking for the one off your breaker Gonzo? Just moved out from parents so limited fundage what with Christmas and all! Car maybe having to wait to the New Year to get back on the road!
  9. Thanks for the reply, is there a bearing between the diff and the prop that could need replacing? A pinion bearing or something of the sort? Hoping its not the diff!
  10. Hi All, So I came onto the dual carrage way, gave it a bit of gas upto 75. Immediately afterwards there was a loud bang followed by a horrendous grinding noise which sounds like my exhaust scraping on the floor. Pulled over and nothing underneath so drove 6 miles home at about 10mph sounding like a tractor! I jacked up the car when I got home and the grinding noise appears when I turn the wheels, it is more dominant when turning the wheels forward. Where the prop joins the diff there is ALOT of play which leads me to believe the pinion or (centre?) bearing has disintegrated? Is this right? What is the right bearing I need? Is this the correct diagnosis? Is it difficult to replace? Let me know if you need anymore info! Thanks, Tom
