  1. It was said in a tax seminar that my ex went to and she works for the Government.
  2. They closed the Jersey tax loophole and play.com have announced today that they are closing their retail dept from March 2013
  3. Heard something quiet scary today. My ex girlfriend (on good terms) went to a tax seminar - without going into details tax is changing in April. Its a possibility that eventually HMRC will be in charge of paying everyone, then billing companies for the wages!!!! So your company will tell HMRC how much to pay you then THEY HMRC will be in charge of paying you. Taxing at source. Scary shit. Next it will be Brussels deciding on how much we will be getting paid seen as they dictate everything else!
  4. They are worthless in the trade too! I'd say 1k for an 04 plate is about right! I wouldnt pay that tho. A chap traded one in for a motorhome and he got £700 for it on an 03 plate
  5. Range Rover and reliability do not go hand in hand believe me I have owned the Classic and the P38... love them to bits though! I would avoid an Almera personally unless it is a good condition N15.... the N16s rust on front xmember and the 1.5 engine is reliable but terrible fuel economy!
  6. What about a P10 Primera then? Just as reliable as the Micra. Plus the one I had got flooded the same time as my Zed but it started and drove... unlike the Z EDIT: and this one is looking lovely http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Nissan-Primera-2-0-SRi-/150897421116?pt=Automobiles_UK&hash=item23222feb3c
  7. If you want a reliable car that is cheap you will not get any better than a K11 Nissan Micra. Yes many of you may mock it but these cars are literally amazing... I had one for a year and it was great and the 1.0 is very economical. There is nothing German you can buy that will outlast a K11. We took one in last year that had 330,000 miles on the clock (hard miles as the guy was a self employed courier). Need I tell you that the car is still currently being driven around by our Bulgarian valeters!
  8. Worst car I have ever owned had to be the Astra GSi. What a piece of shit that car was. Soured the dream for me as I always wanted one as a youngster! Slow and crap handling and easy to steal as I found out! Good riddance to it! Plus easily the chavviest car I have ever owned! This was my one, only had it 6 weeks and it was stolen to end my misery lol
  9. Got mine today also, will try it later thanks a million!
  10. Good choice, just scary if (when) they go wrong like you quite rightly said - expensive to repair! I have considered German many times in the past but even with my contacts in the motor trade massive costs of fixing older over-engineered vehicles like this scare me away. Jealous though! Enjoy it!
  11. Mrs Snowman was ignoring Mr Snowman..... she was giving him the cold shoulder
  12. Pretty sure you can as I think that falls below the threshold. Although I wouldn't know as I don't have any kids (that I know of / in this country)
  13. Think it is the same one that won JAE car of the show this year
  14. I think this is the one I sold to Mark
  15. Yes as santa says, the squiers are not as well made as the real deal but still she could do ALOT worse for a starter guitar
  16. Does it say Squier Stratocaster on it?
  17. Yes, neither my old SWB or my new one were garaged
  18. http://www.telegraph.co.uk/motoring/news/9744312/Death-of-the-car-tax-disc-as-DVLA-records-become-digitised.html The end of an era? Hopefully with them cutting costs they can pass the savings on to us! :asshole:
  19. Yes I shall be attending next years JAE - this time armed with a better tent, which would be true if I just took a bag for life
