  1. There have been a few 'wheels' related threads lately, so thought I'd join in: Slightly kerbed wheels: A little arch rolling required: Actually, while I'm on a car theme, here are a couple of quality body kits: 'Drifting' from cars for a moment (did you see what I did there? :)).... Any Homer Simpson fans in the house: Finally, (back to cars again), here's one for anyone who's on the beer (or stronger!) tonight: Your turn........
  2. Kim et al, Great to meet some of you at last. Thanks for your hard work in sorting everything out! I'll get some pics up tomorrow evening hopefully. Cheers
  3. Does anyone have the phone number for either Kim, Athene, AndyP etc? If so, could you e-mail or phone please? Cheers! Si.
  4. Hi Kim, I'm definitely bringing the Z up either tomorrow or Sunday. I very much doubt I'll be staying over any night though :( Simon.
  5. Jeez, just to say: my thoughts are with you and your family mate. All the very, very best to you all. Simon.
  6. Well done mate!! Can you get yourself 4 other wives to help look after them all? :)
  7. Dan, Is the RCA input not just another composite video-in, which, 'could be used to display a GPS display'? Maybe, it's a 2-wire serial link to a dedicated GPS receiver, which will have it's own aerial socket... Either way sounds a) Badly labelled and/or b) Mis-sold. Hope you get it sorted. Simon.
  8. That exhaust system looks a bit of a restriction! I suggest they go for a more free-flowing one :D
  9. This guy deserves a medal!: http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/health/7542404.stm Simon.
  10. Quality bit of work there mate. Did you end up measuring your own Z dimensions to produce the model? Simon.
  11. Did you get a matching jock-strap tailored at the same time?? :D
  12. Fanny jam - buy two jars and get the tampons free!!
  13. The description for this Z is so bad it almost sounds stolen!: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/nissan-300zx-white_W0QQitemZ270256938439QQcmdZViewItem?hash=item270256938439 I'm sure it would sell for twice as much if the owner could be bothered to present a decent ad! Hope it's no one on here!
  14. That is VERY nice!! Well done. I have to say, I used to think white was not good colour for a Z, but your Z and CrotchRocket's are two of the best on here in my opinion. Keep it clean! And stay away from parking spaces with kerbs are the end! Simon.
  15. Sorry, would have replied earlier, but didn't want to open this thread at work
  16. "It is understood the man was traced after forensic scientists identified DNA recovered from a pair of jogging bottoms found at the scene." yeah that AND the portion of vitamin B he left inside the sheep!
  17. IIRC running lean at idle isn't that bad - but it will raise your HC figure when MOT man does the emissions check.
  18. If one of the springs has broken then you're almost certainly going to loose compression. I think the lifters can cause a valve to hang open too if it doesn't compress properly. Also, if there's too much play in the valve guide then, again, the valve won't be seating properly on its return and cause a small drop in compression. (But certainly not to the extent that you've observed). One last thing - IF it was running lean on the suspect cylinder - you may have burnt and pitted the exhaust valve seats.... (unlikely though as I think pistons are more likely to hole before a valve seat gives up!) I think for now all this talk is just one big guessing game until the head is off. to reveal the true cause. I hope for your wallets and your sanity's sake it's something simple!!
  19. Might just hear that coming with a 2 stroke engine buzzing away LOL. IF battery technology was able to power that for long disances - they should send one of them to Mars rather the 6-wheel RC buggy they've got up there now!
  20. I think is was aerodynamically modelled on a computer before any real models were tested - cutting down on R&D time and money.
  21. The bats been squeezed out by the puppies! :D
  22. Too true! I've got pics too - The leading edges of the compressor-wheel blades were quite jagged! Unfortunately, I have neither the time or the money at the moment to change them :( (I'd like a pair of Apexi filters really)
  23. That would actually be quite a cool paintjob!
  24. You might change your mind if you get out in one of Audi's new A5's. Mate at work has one and sounds like a diesel for about 5 seconds - then, silence. Just like a petrol (almost) at tick over. Goes very well too - it's got about 280bhp I think. Chap reckons he got it to 175 on the way back from Austria where his folks live. Si.
  25. FWIW, I've had my HKS 'mega-flow' (that's the green mushroom) intake on for 6 years now and no problems yet. Topless, are you moving over to a new ECU then, if you're selling the VPC? Si.
