  1. Reluctantly I am now selling mine http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/301944413463?ssPageName=STRK:MESELX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1555.l2649 (couldn't resist giving it one more plug!) and I do use it as a daily driver and do around 15K to 20K per year. I agree with Richard, they do run better when used regularly.
  2. Great write up Jeff. I was really suspicious of my auto Zed when I got it 7 years ago...but my concerns soon diminished. Yes there is slightly less control than a manual but the continual boost up to pretty much whatever speed you want is stunning. I do occasionally engage the "Hold" button and select gears manually too and whilst it's no sequencial modern box, it does change gear pretty quickly. I never thought I would say it but after 100,000 miles in my Zed, Auto is the way to go....and of course you need more skill to drive an auto too
  3. For sale, my 300zx Twin Turbo. New business forces sale...or I would be keeping it! Huge description on eBay, any questions please contact me through this site or eBay. It's a great car for someone out there... http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/-/301935294897?
  4. I'm selling two K&N air filters for the OEM box. Low mileage, see eBay listing for full details. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/301909253741?ssPageName=STRK:MESELX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1555.l2649
  5. A superb restoration, top job Sir. Another Zed back from the dead, excellent!:thumbup1:
  6. There must be some legal route that we can take to have you "imported" back to the UK?
  7. Regarding your video and the high pitched noise...it sounds like the alternator bearing. Mine failed earlier this year and the initial noise was identical. One of the few design issues with our cars is that the water pipes sit directly above the alternator so if there have been any leaks during the life of the car, the alternator gets an early bath which dries out the bearings. Hope his helps. Stunning car by the way, top work.
  8. As above. I change my oil and filter every 3000 miles and use a semi-synthetic 10W-40. Currently I am using Castrol GTX which comes in a 4L bottle which makes it an ideal amount for my TT. JeffTT (ex owner of ZedWorld) did say to use semi-synthetic rather than fully synthetic (not sure why, but he is a Zed god). Regarding the filters, they are readily available from the usual car parts suppliers (and Nissan), just make sure you get a decent make e.g. Bosch.
  9. Welcome, start by getting yourself a magnet on a piece of string
  10. The good news - I think it will make our Zed's more desirable with true motoring enthusiasts  The bad news - Dilution of the Z brand. It's like slapping a "Cooper" badge on most Mini's, making a Fiat 500L and introducing the Mustang with a poultry 2 litre engine  Come on Nissan, you have an iconic brand with the Z, give it the respect it deserves :dots:
  11. Well put Si and long may it continue. The original lines of our cars are stunning and often major mods takes that away. I've owned my Zed for 6 years now and whilst I've spent significantly more time driving it than modifying it, anything I have done I have made sure is reversible so I can bring it back to it's original spec if I want to. Our cars were ahead of their time when they were new and now, finally they are getting recognised for the classic design they truly are.
  12. Magnet on a string... from a 300zx owners essential tool box :)
  13. Is the wiring loom touching the water pump pulley?
  14. Glad you're home OK. The symptoms sound like a fuel pressure problem...have you checked if any water has got into the fuel pump fuse compartment? Hope you get it sorted.
  15. Have you checked that the correct voltages are coming through the wiring loom to the injectors and coil packs?
