Hi, I was talking to guy on here last year who offered complete ECU swap outs for performance boost. Cant locate the thread now, does anybody have any idea who it may have been or of anybody else offereng this service? Z

I am getting the occasional light smoking from what i think is the ns exhaust though it may be both, when I see the smoke, I try to detect it and it disappears. I have been advised to leave it on the forum, enjoy the car basically, but I would like to know the cost of replacing the turbo oils seals????Anybody down south that can do it. ???

Hi, thanks for your reply....I use the car nearly every day for running around town. Can the turbo rear seals go over a period of time? Is it a big job? :)

I have a 1991 TT Auto. I was sitting at a junction with windows open recently when I got a whiff of what smelled like a plume of burning oill. I instantly looked up to see acouple of car behind me and thought it may have been one of them. Pulled over, checked the emissions visually on my car, clean as a whistle and smooth tickover on my car. I have not detected any smoking since apart from yesterday, siting at some lights and I looked in the rear view and noticed smoke. Pulled over, again no sign at all?? Again there were cars behind me...could it have been one of them...I doubt it judging by there recent manufacturer. I have sat the car on tickover, revved it, etc etc....nothing but clean emissions. I though that maybe one of the turbo seals had gone or was going and was leaking oil, but an expert told me that there it would be more of a constant smoke. As far as I can see, ther car seems to be perfect.......am I imagining this or do Z`s smoke now and then for no reason. Something I need to add, the air con was on and the tickover rasied on both occasions, could that have an influence ?? ZIND

I have a 91 300zxTT and would like to tune it. It has a decat blue flame exhaust already and a different induction system/air filter. I only want a basic ecu upgrade or simmilar. ZIND

Just wanted to add......after driving it again today, I would say that the vibration should be described as more of a whine that increases in pitch when accelerating, then drops on deceleration....does this still sound like the prop shaft?

Yes, I am already grateful for the feedback!!. I have found a garage whos specialise and will change prop bearing and balance for around £205. First I am putting two new back tyres on as they are very low and I am getting 4 wheel allignment done as its pulling to the left.

I am getting a vibration which I am guessing is the propshaft or diff. It is barely audible around town but above 40 mph it gets louder settling to a steady hum between 70-100. I thought it may have been a bearing as one of rear discs gets a lot hotter than the other but the noise doesnt change going around a bend and the bearing feels fine when the car is jacked up and the wheel turned. Any thoughts or feedback. This is my first Z.
