4 wheel alignment in suffolk/norfolk.....
Sorry to bring up an old post but not had time to get on here in the last few days. TRied like mad to get hold John with no luck never there at mo it seems, but the number and address is in the yellow pages and you cant miss Tescos on newmarket road as you go in to cambridge, so i think just giving them a call is your best option. Really sorry i took so long, hope you get it sorted.

Listen to this Z!!

Wtf now?
Hi fellas, could be wrong completely but i do know that the heater blow is right behind the glove box, just thinking that maybe noise's could be from there. Straw noise maybe a leaf or something along them lines getting sucked around. Sucking sound could be the clips that hold the to halfs together to make a seal could have broken or come adrift, the plastic parts on mine broke when i took mine out also had some leafs and general cr*p in it, but no noise's. Long shot i know but hey worth a look maybe?

no, i said i could do it, but not allowed to recomend myself. Would deff recomend my best mate tho. He did work at Marshall Nissan in Cambs (so Knows what hes on about) . Now works in Stretham, Cambs garage called Autosouce, only other person i would trust to leave my zed with and walk away. Dont know much would think a couple of hundred would cover it.

could my timming be out??
really glad to hear you stuck with it, and it was the maf all the time. Sure it must have save a few quid just for the sake of trying. hope the lambda sensor sorts the cat light (pretty sure it will as no lack of power) would change sooner rather than l8r not a hard job at all to change, but do at your cuz's garage so much easier on a ramp than on your back. Happy motoring

4 wheel alignment in suffolk/norfolk.....
Hi mate. He's a good friend of my borther-in-law and wife,so will give him a call tomorrow and get a post code for you. Will tell him to expect to hear from you some time soon and to look after you (wink wink). Just a quick one to think about before you book up, just tried to adjust my tein coil overs (have to admit in a bit of a bad way, look a few years old)they have alloy spring seats and locking rings and they have siezed solid. when I tried to move them they just shatterd. Have sourced some more from fensport in chatteris cambs cost £102 inc vat and delievery (I think) if orded before end week no special order delivery charge will come with their stock order like mine. Need any help with replacing them, drop me line. Will happily lend a hand, have my own garage so plenty of shelter, space, and not forgetting ramps.

could my timming be out??
like I've i said be4 no zed expert, just know what i know in general and cleaning isn't recommended. If on other hand it has been done time and time be4 on zed's then I guess there's nothing to lose. What's the worst that can happen? you'll need to buy a new one, well sort of at that bridge now anyways. Good luck, I hope shes up and running soon.

Really glad to hear you tried it and it made and improvment.Yes it can seem as if it ''come's and goes'', due to the varied readings it wants to give off, some time at ilde sometimes full power. You shouldn't really clean air flow meter wires as they have a coating on them to protect from day to day sh*t, and can also cause them to burn out premiture (coating is kind of like an oil base substance). ''Cleaning'' will only work for a little while if at all, the wires run on very small resitance. I would just buy one (new if youre not parting company with her soon), you'll know at least you wont have same prob's in a few months unlike second hand one. Bad news about cat light is, that maybe all the unburnt fuel that has entered your exhausts when engine was missing could have burnt your cat or sensor tip and poss nacked your cat starting to block them up. Good news is that it could just theres fuel in your cats or that the air flow meter wasn't great and is just giving a faulse reading to the lambda sensors. I would leave well alone until you have a new air flow meter and then try out for a few days/long trip to see what happens with the light and even run a diag' check as you know to do it. Oh yeah would deffo change those filters when your in there and mayb some plugs if you have changed them recently. hope it clears up soon, and don't forget keep us informed.

would still try a swap of air flow meters, wouldn't hurt and could save a big garage bill. Lamba would effect idle, but not start up to much. The MAF would effect both, as incorrect mix of fuel/air in cylinders. Poss' cauesing cat light to come on. It may still in spec enough not to put permant fault in ECU. When disconected ECU just reverts back to a pre defind reading, aka a limp home setting, not full power same as if it was completely knacked. No harm in trying before a trip to Z world. Keep us up to date.

Just thought i have autodata on computer, it tells how to use diagnostic plug to read fault codes if you don't have equipment to hand using the MIL lamp on dash. Would tell you what codes are in the ecu and why its flashng, hopefully say if MAF sensor was knacked or not. Could email to you i think, (not all that good with comp's, if you can't tell!? lol) let me know if you want it, and codes. lol

engine bay insulator
Can deff' say just for sound deadening, 90% of all moden cars have it, wont cause a prob.

Price for fitting belts !!!!!!!!!!!!!
ok then deff ask though as i know being a mech myself thats more than a good price for doing them would prob offer 35-40 first 50 is a good sat morning/afternoon pay cheq for a quick job like that
-
Price for fitting belts !!!!!!!!!!!!!
forget main dealers, head to your local little independent on sat morning and ask one of the guys holding a spanner if he want to do it out of hours for 50 sheets. Im sure they say yeah. Not to hard to do your self though if your i little handy with a spanner. Don't be shy, you'll feel good afterwards.
-
Should I go lower?
its crying out to be decked. Dont hesitate get on the spanners. Make it happen

could my timming be out??
wouldn't recommend messing with cas, reckon you'll end up with prob's under load and on full chat. Anyway moving it will only adjust ignition timing not mechanical timing. As for get cams/crank half a cog out this would cause engine to lock solid and wouldn't turn over never mind run.On the other hand if you got any one pulley or all of them a tooth out it would run, but like i said before it would be really tappey and after time loose all compresion, because would burn the valve seats out. Would think the slight tap you can hear are you tappets quite common so im lead to belive (more the rears). May be an engine oil aditvie (recommend FORTE) in when you do your next oil change may help. would love to come and sort it for you really know how you feel have had to do the same job on mine three time when i didn't even need to do it once, would have had the old lady on the road days a go but these things are sent to test us stick with her she worth it im sure

could my timming be out??
how did you adjust timing? sorry if stupid question, as i said no expert. thought timing is ecu controlled, so very intrested.i could adjust my timing for performance not worried about smooth idle.(More power vicar?)lol.
