Mine's got 255 50's on 16" rims.... I hope they aint that hard to get hold of... That means they cost more...:(

Thay might suit a black zed, but as with general consensus... they look tacky and cheap....

Just a quickie, to say thanks to Jeff, Jamie and the boys at zedworld, for getting my pride and joy back to me, all running great, and lookin good...:gunsmilie: She's driving great, pulling well, boosting as per normal, but every now and then, at a standstill there's a few puffs of smoke from the back... I realise that this is more than likely just oil burning opff, or whatever, but I just thought I'd mention it... :sleeping: Other than that, I'm a very happy chappie, thanks again lads, and I'll see you for the service in a few weeks... :cool2:

not 100% sure but deffo head gaskets, and piston rings, possibly stuck valves as well, judging by the compression test results... (a reading of 275 on two cylinders, nowt on 3, and 125 on the other) I didnt wanna go down the road of endlessly chucking money at her, chasing my tail, just as easy to get a new un chucked in....

I'll gently poke them on friday for ya liam... only VERY gently, mind, they'll be doing mine next, I dont wanna wind em up, you know the score lol ;)

I hate livin out here in the sticks... no signal (yet again, thanks a bunch 3 for a tremendous service) meant I missed a call from zedworld saying there's a problem with taking the car there early... I'm hoping I can get some signal tomorrow morning, so they can explain, and not put me off.... Transport booked, deposit payed, mrs lending me her car for a day, etc, etc.... the problems mount up, if I have to postpone everything... fingers, toes, and nuts crossed.....

4 days.... she's gonna be there a day early, just in case they're stood around with nowt to do... ;) (ok so it was an extra £75 to get her there on a saturday, compared to a friday)

lol I just made a "was it you?" thread for this one... I drove past a few mins after it happened.... must be summat in the water, I saw an R8 about 40 miles before this one, on the A46 as well that was VERY broken after trying to nip in front of someone as they approached roadworks.... old bill were there, and I dont think they were patting him on the back....

On my way home yesterday evening, I spotted a yellow zed on the A46 near Lincoln, that had tried to kill it's owner coming off a roundabout. Looks like a combination of just rained on road, and an :oops: moment joined forces and fired him up the embankment.... I hope it's not too expensive a fix for whoever the unlucky squire is....

I suspect you might be right there.... Tamworth to Skegness via Glasgow, get the 1,000 mile trip and free service done, no messin about.... lol :devil: no, she's not there until the 11th of June mate....:sleep: I couldn't exactly claim her to be "broken down", the engine's sat on the mounts, with nothing hooked up to it, front bumper and wings are off, and there's a box of bits on the back seat..... I did try, but they were havin none of it....:whistling:

She's booked in for 12th June for the new engine, managed to get the quoted tow price of £340 (!) down to £155 through shiply.com, very good service if anyone needs em.... I'm gonna be driving my zed next month..... :D

Ok so it's took a while to get the cash together, but I'm now at the £1300 saved mark, and only a couple of ton short of the final amount needed for a new engine from zedworld... I'm planning/hoping/praying to be on the road for the start of June.... FAO Jeff... did you get the price for the tow from Skegness for me yet? These next few weeks are gonna go sooooo slowly....

just gonna get replacement off jeff, it's the easiest option, with a guarantee, and someone who knows their stuff doin the work. A supposed pal has already ripped me off for a few hundred quid over this car.... :(

lol bit of a tme gap, but I've moved from Coventry to Skegness in the mean time..... I spoke to jeff @ zedworld today, and it looks like I'll have her in for an engine in the next few weeks, so watch out Lincolnshire... redzed is coming out to play this summer..... it's gonna be the best £1,500 I've ever spent.... Oh and the Volvo's been sold for a G.... not bad for a 14 yr old Volvo estate with 205,000 miles on her, eh?

Last night we got the lump out of the zed, and she's now ready for phase two, which involves cash leaving my pocket. That's gonna take a while, there's sod all in there to start with. The plan is to spend about £1200 on parts, and about £400 on machine work at the engine shop. I'm hoping to get her up to 500bhp by the end of this, but I'd be happy if she ran at standard power, to be honest. I'm doing this with no help, no haynes manual, and no 15mm 1/2" drive socket. This was the end result last night......
