  2. Ah!-like I said,is the cable attached?-IIRC you can remove the trim and access the release from there.

  5. Well the're in!-all seem to work o.k apart from the rev counter reads 1k too high?-also get a 'bong' when slowing down.....sure Jeff mentioned this tho'? Bits everywhere! And fitted........ Gratuitous shot of the seats that I 'restored'........ These are Boldy's clocks,white EL dials with converter. I'll get a pic up later when it's dark!:laugh:

  7. Right Graham, If I swap the lot to the Jap housing(so the plugs match up) they will work o.k.?-no wiring issues ?-just need to confirm as I'm doing it now.............Oh and it will still read in miles...........
  8. Just come to fit my new UK dials and found the plugs different! UK is the lower pic, I presume these are off a later series than mine?-Question is can all the gauges be swapped to the Jap housing and work correctly or am I fooked!:hang:

  13. No glue on the rings mate,just bend the rear over on these.

  16. I put crimp eyelets on the feed wires and fitted these to the 2 screws at the bottom.
  17. Done and done!-took the blue 'nob-socks' off the bulbs tho',don't want brown needles!:chinese:
  18. What a fiddly job!-especially when you've got hands like a bunch of Fyffes bananas:hammer: First off removed the Odo and corrected the mileage to the Kilometers on the car so all tallies up.... Started.... Chrome rings fitted, Gauges back together and wires fed........ All done with the right mileage showing-just hope they work now! LOL! The dimmer and inverter I'm going to stick behind the dash,use the cars dimmer instead. Soz for the crap pics-I really need a new Camera!:whistling:
  19. With the D/stick pulled and the engine running is there any mist/vapour/smoke evident from the tube?
  20. Leak-down test is better!-IIRC, 128 is Nissan limit for Compression.
  21. Possible PCV sticking (I hope) boost is going into the crankcase.Does the engine breath at all?
  22. There is but you probably don't want to hear it!
