Cheaper to run and more reliable definitely, but not necessarily cheaper to insure as all NA's are imports. I have known a fair few cases where it's been cheaper to insure a UK twin turbo than an imported NA. In fact, my old TT cost less than my current NA to cover - but that's a lot to do with age of the vehicle apparently.

I've actually got one of these sitting on my desk in front of me!! The guy selling them on eBay only lives ten minutes away from me so I went and picked it up from him - nice guy too. He's gonna be doing a few more cheap bits soon, including front and rear strut braces :). Did you fit it yourself then mate? Was it easy? Have you got any tips etc.?

It's really difficult to choose a favourite, but I'm gonna say that a modded 2+2 looks best in black (e.g MickeyB's, or T-Pot's is looking sweeeet now :bow: ), and a stock SWB looks best in silver. For an aftermarket colour, the deep blues really suit, e.g. Chris@GetGreddy or Jason's Beast. But for rarity, which also looks stunning in the sun, you can't beat DN1 Cobalt Pearl Metallic Green :D I bet this one's gonna be a bugger to paint match too :headvswal

Christ!!! I really started something here didn't I!! As stated in my original post: My grievance was with the magazine in question, not the tuner that made the original comment. Yeh, it 'darkened my mood' so to speak, but opinions cannot be chastised, I know that. I merely resent the fact the JTuner decided to splash this opinion in large text across a whole page as a caption to a picture. Sure, this might serve to help the 300zx brand, as the more gullible faithful followers of the magazines might leave them alone, thus letting us true 300zx enthusiasts purchase them all and keep them in good nick rather than abusing them. Howeverm, obviously it's gonna rile this place - 'cos we love our machines and don't want to hear negative things about them. Would you be happy if someone slagged off your wife? I wouldn't. I'd wee on their shoes. :D

In the 'Masterclass' article on page 92-95 of the April '06 JTuner mag, there is an interview with Clive Seddon of RC Developments, Evo specialists. On page 95 Clive is asked what his least favourite Japanese car is, and why, and he responds:- "The Nissan 300ZX. It's atrocious in every way: looks, engine, everything. I won't accept one in the workshop!" And to make matters worse, JTuner have chosen to use this quote as a large text caption on page 94's main picture!! I know it's only one man's opinion - which he is entitled to, even though he's wrong (obviously ;)) - but I find it a little unfair for a supposedly unbiased publication to highlight this derogatory comment. I'm not trying to argue the point, as I'm not that technically knowledgable, but engines that "need rebuilding quite frequently" do not fall into my 'reliable' category. Regular servicing and basic maintenance is about my limit to keep a good engine going strong, but necessary rebuilds? Not for me. Shame, 'cos I fookin' love 'em to look at :D Z's are still best overall tho ;) Especially mine :tongue:

Sounds to me like you're doing everything right, it's just not playing anymore :( Perhaps try taking the cover off the wheel and checking the connections to the buttons as a first step. After that you'd better ask someone else, I'm not that technical!!!! HTH

Technically I agree too, but I think the RX7 is the best looking performance Jap on the road, but I didn't buy one because of the reliability issues (and I wasn't as clued up in general back then). Also, the chevy V8 is my fave block so a combination of the two should be great - but I know what you're saying. I suppose the Rex would lose it's 'finesse'. And he could have done something with that air cleaner couldn't he? I'm sure mantav8's bonnet bulge isn't gonna be that big.

How about a four bed semi, drive for 6 cars, front and rear gardens, mahoosive kitchen and separate office space - for £46k!!!! :tongue: Granted, it was an absolute doghole and it's taken us 5 years and a fair bit of moolah to get it to the stage it's at now (and we're not finished yet) but quite a bargain, I think you'll agree. Ivan, Do you know when the Ashby Folville meets start again dude? I have found a date of 11th May, which seems about the right time, but is this the first one of the season? For those of you that have never heard of it, this is a local (Leicestershire) meet for all sorts of 'proper' sports cars (from real vintage classics to modern day supercars and motorbikes) and is a cracking night out. There is a nice pub and a couple of stalls doing food, ice creams etc. but it does get very busy - they practically take over the village in the peak of the summer!! Anyway, it's good, and I wanna go :D:wack:

I have just spoke to Clare (Mrs Chunk) and she has informed me that he could be home by Saturday, so all evidence of this thread needs to be removed by then guys :)

I've just had a call from Clare (aka Mrs Chunk :D) to say that Rich's op seems to have gone well, and he is recovering now. So, it's fingers crossed that the 'morphogenic proteins' do their job, and that he recovers as quickly as possible. Chunk has given us all a telephone number that we can call him on while he's in hospital, BUT PLEASE DON'T RING HIM TONIGHT AS HE IS VERY TIRED AND DROWSY. So, the number for use on Wednesday or after is:- 07040 345 784 Clare says that, if all goes well, they are hoping for him to come home on Saturday to continue his recovery at home. I'll be popping in to see him before then, and will keep you all updated with any news. :)
