  1. Hopefully this year i will get to spend more time at the cars and less looking at gardens, abey, old house, statue, more gardens, museum, more gardens, birds of prey were cool though
  2. I should be there, was a good day last year
  3. Stock rear speakers in a uk zed have an extra amplifier in line. It powers up when the head unit turns on. Most adapter cables don't have that wire in them. Splicing the cable to the electric ariel cable should fix it. From memory it's the 5 th wire on the small plug
  4. Oh and my 95 doesnt have a fuel temp sensor so fitting an older ecu kicked up an error
  5. Clocks are different : surface mount components, different plugs, diferent shape dials , no boost gauge etc Ecu is different Manual air control uses completely different motors and ecu Vvt no longer fitted Airbag in steering wheel therefore airbag light on dash Hicas as you said Electric passenger seat Cornering lights
  6. :( Have to go to work instead :(
  7. I have a roadhawk camera in the car. It records video, audio, location on a map, speed and schock force in 3 directions. Giving a copy to the police
  8. ha ha, given how angry and pissed off and fed up with zeds and 4x4s at the moment....that actually made me smile for the first time tonight
  9. think i must have i didnt chase him, pulled off at the next exit and phoned the police now i need to go to the police station to produce my documents quite upset as i had been driving my landrover all day and had changed to the zed 5 minutes before his nice shiney 4x4 would have had a harder time trying to push me off the road if i had been in my defender instead
  10. my vert has been accepted for goodwood breakfast club, email arrived today.... "Thank you for your pre-registration confirming that you intend to come to SOFT TOP SUNDAY - 05/05/2013. As well as representing Sunday’s theme, we feel that your car will also be of particular interest to the attendees on the day. With this in mind, we are delighted to give you the opportunity to be one of the featured vehicles in the primary display area on the Grid." just need to sneek the morning off work now
  11. and again :( this time a big nissan 4x4 took offense to me on a slip road and four times drove into the drivers side , before driving off. interestingly i discovered that a 300zx wing mirror fits exactly into a navara wheel arch and i still havent found anywhere to get a replacement rear bumper from the last time
  12. All 3 earths can join in the E terminal of your new fitting. Probably.... The midle wire is the supply, The right wire goes to your wall light and the left wire goes to your light switch, ( red taking live to the switch and blue and yellow being the 2 switched feeds for the 2 lights)
  13. the stock jap ecu chip is limited to 180km/h which is roughly 112 mph the stock uk ecu chip is limited to 180mph the ecu gets the speed signal from the speedo fitting a kmph to mph converter box to the speedo fools the jap ecu into thinking you are doing 180km/h when you are actually doing 180mph hence "raising "the limiter if you just change the dial face on a jap speedo so it reads in miles (face goes to 120mph) then the limiter will still be at 180kmph/112mph unless you get a new ecu chip to actually raise the limit point i believe that changing a jap car to uk clocks still leaves the limit point at 180kmph/112mph and requires an ecu chip to raise it, however i know others have disagreed with me on this
  14. I'm thinking bomex Anyone know if theyre available in the uk?
  15. So, what rear bumper do people think i have? And where would one buy one?
  16. Cheers, at first glance it looks like it might be just a paint and polish. Going to give it a good looking at tommorow, not sure if it moved the exhaust too. given how far it moved the car i,m suprised theres not more damage, maybe the car moving saved it from more
  17. It was the red slicktop Vert is still wraped up warm in the garage awaiting summer I got an email back from the md within 5 minutes, apologising and promising to investigate and get back to me by the end of tommorow
  18. It could have been a lot worse i guess Been watching the cctv and there is no way he didnt realise Just looked up their web site and found a " message from the MD" : Our success is based on continual improvement and I would appreciate your feedback, whether positive or negative, to help us assess what we are doing well and where we can get better, so please do email your comments to me at......... Guess he will be getting some negative feedback
  19. Having broken a drive shaft on my land rover at the weekend ( having too much fun) i took the zed to work today. Parked in a legitimate parking space , handbreak on, in gear A van drives up, reverses into the back of my zed, shunts it forward nearly a meter, scrapes the paint off and damages the rear bumper. Then he drives off ( forward then reverse again) without even stopping to look or leave any details :( Am about to write an email to the company expressing my displeasure
  20. If you do decide to try moving the needle, a fork makes a good tool I'm fairly sure the instructions i had said to put the needle back on with the clocks powered, but it was a few years ago
  21. Yes, changing to 120 mph faces is done so you dont need a converter, it leaves the odeometer reading in km. it also leaves the jap 112 mph speed limiter in place
  22. If they only go up to 110 mph then they have had the dial face replaced, as stock they go up to 180 mph if uk and 180 kmph if jap. In order to change the face you need to pull the needle off . If you put it back on wrong then i believe you can get the effect you describe. There is a write up on here or one of the american forums about how to do it properly which i used when i did mine
  23. As long as they have a series 1 or series 2 car the speedo can be adjusted by changing resisters and adjusting a pot. When i fitted a tt manual conversion to my 95 na i ended up buying an adjustable speed converter box. The other diference is the vacuum asist to the clutch pedal and the tt pedal being heavier than an na without the vacuum assist. They can just T the brake vacuum line, however to do it properly they would want all the vacuum tanks and hose . Most important is that if they T the brake line, they fit a second non return valve so clutch booster failure doesnt kill the brakes
  24. The letters refer to lwb, swb, turbo, na, vert
  25. Back when i had back seats, i found it depended what order you put the seat back... Slide back then tilt back, locks in where it was previously Tilt back then slide back, need to slide right back to lock
