Just renewed my insurance with Elephant, told them I got a cheaper quote from Bell (which I did), so they knocked £170 off my renewal cost. Annoying thing is I have to do this EVERY year, tell them I got a cheaper quote THEN they reduce the price, I wish they'd just give me the chepest price in the first place! BTW Elephant were able to access all the details off the Bell system, so don't lie about the Bell quote. snx. ..Oops, meant to put this on the 'Insurance' thread can someone move it for me please?

I'm thinking i might need to get a new set of alloys. But i'm not sure what size i need. My curretn tyre sizes are 215x40xR18 on the front and 235x40xR18 on the back (i think). What size can I fit if i get new alloys? Can i fit the larger alloy sizes?

Went to a couple of tyre places today... they reckon it's damaged beyond repair.but i'm not giving up yet. Also, have no idea about where to get a new one from, they've got 'Medusa' written on them, but they were on the car when i got it imported.

Hi all, I hit a divider curb in the middle of the road the other night. Damaged my alloy quite badly and caused my tire to leak :cry: .... so, need some advice. 1. Where can I get it repaired (preferably in London), and what's the rough cost? 2. I've got small bolts inside the alloy so you can undo all the studs, does that mean it's a split rim? If so would that make it easier to repair? 3. How much you reckon the alloys are worth? in current condition and if i get them repaired? Thanks. snx

I may be being a bit biased here ('ve got an NA Auto), but I think saying that it's worth 1.5k is a bit of an insult, just the alloys and parts are probably worth a few hundred. Loose the stickers and the rear lights, and it's a decent looking 3 Litre V6 at the end fo the day. I think if everyone priced their ZX's a bit higher, it would better for ZX owners generally. I'm putting up my ZX up for sale (1996 AUTO NA), I spent 6.5k importing it about two years ago... wanna sell it for 5-5.5k... would that be overpriced?

Just to clarify, the radio goes completely silent, regardless of which station it's on. Doesn't happen with CDs or MP3's etc. My mate's Celica (new version) has a siilar problem, and was told it's got something to do with the ECU... not sure if that's similar to my problem. I'm also thinking if a grounding kit will help. It's not a big deal (literally cuts off for a second or two), just irritating. snx.

I used to have a strong smell of petrol when i first got my zed... quite a common problem apparently, most people recommend getting new fuel lines. I didn't think it was the fuel lines as it was fairly young zed (sept. 96). Two or three tanks of Optimax sorted it out, smell never came back. snx.

I meant get them checked over, in case they're worn out etc... Is there any point in upgrading them?

Very tricky this.. think it would be easier to have a top ten list of games... I would say.. 1. Snes: Super Mario World, Mario Kart, F-zero, Super Ghouls & Ghosts etc. 2. N64: three of the greatest games of all time: Zelda Ocarina of time, Mario 64 & Goldeneye. 3. Sega Saturn: Nights, Street Fighter Aplha 2 (the best one IMO), Panzar Dragoon, Gaurdian Heroes. (If anyone knows of an emulator, PLEASE let me know, been looking for years) 4. Megadrive: Sonic, thunderforce, hellfire, etc. 5. Nintendo DS: Advance Wars DS, Metroid, brain training. 6. Xbox: Halo, Halo 2 and XBMC (yeah i know that's not a game). 7. Gameboy: Tetris! 8. Gamecube: Zelda Wind waker, Metroid, Super Mario Sunshine etc. 9. PC Engine: Metal Slug, Gradius, R-Type etc. 10. Sega Master System: The one that started it all off for me! Amazing to think how far games have progressed in the last 15 years or so...
