  13. If its leaking on the alternator at the front as smithy says the cam seals are likely but surely if hes had the engine out heads off he would see where the oil has leaked sounds a bit daft to just replce 1 gasket rather than doing both heads whilst your at it,could be the cam idler spring and o-ring,could remove timing belt covers re-fit water pipes etc the start her up see if there is any traces of oil from the front if your reffering to the back of the engine then the cam seals shaped like a half cresent sit flush with head and cam cover

  19. totally agree with you
  20. pcv hoses and valves egr systym removed water bypass heater matrix pipes x2 again not vital but if your HG problem was caused through a leak from there might be worth changing cambelt, tensioner w pump ancilary belts, thermostat unless done already, new cambelt at the very least anyway! main seal front crank seal any hoses that look suspect inc turbo feeds, check turbos whilst your at it wouldnt make sense to have engine out and not check them over intake manifold gasket not always necesary! if you had any exhaust leaks from manifolds worth it to do now as its so much easier with engine out new gaskets etc probably missed a bit but thats all i can think off HTH greg also check simple things like radiator seal and cap must be a reason why your HG went in the 1st place
