Definitely mate, the 300zx is one of my all time favourites and I'm really missing it :cry: Just got to wait and see what the insurance will give me.

Thanks again for the well wishes everyone :duffer: Finally got the pictures, camera phone quality i'm afraid. Yes, that is a brand new Mongoose catback system. Just got it installed last thursday :mad: Reported it to the insurance so just got to wait and see if it's a cat b or c now I think :cry:

Thanks for the well wishes folks. I guess the main thing is that I'm ok. On the plus side, my insurance is a prestige cherished car jobber that gives me an equivalent spec courtesy car. So hopefully ill get a go in a 350z :dance: probably get a corsa 1.1 L tho' :rofl:

Well, I joined the winter write off list yesterday :(. Back end spun out on black ice while I was accelerating from 50 to 60 on the A47 at Swafham in Norfolk. Car n/s front hit the crash barrier then the n/s rear hit the barrier and to finish it off the car spun round again and hit almost head on in to the barrier, my seatbelt saved my life at this point!! I was heading for wipe out on either the steering wheel or windscreen before it stopped me, the policeman said that I wouldn't be talking to him if I hadn't been wearing it :eek:. The car finally rolled backwards, leaving me facing the on coming traffic in the middle of the road about 40yards or so from the initial impact point. The scariest thing about the whole crash was that it happened so fast and there was absolutely nothing I could do to prevent it :cry:. The car had no traction at all and it felt like the wheels weren't touching the ground! Anyway, I wasn't hurt at all so feeling very lucky right now, but also gutted that my zed is more than likely going to be written off due to the work needed to jig her straight replace panels/ parts and respray. Good points are the wheels, exhaust, ENGINE, interior etc all look to be fine. I may well be looking at buying her back for parts. I'll put some pics up when my mate emails them to me. I'm going to be getting another one but this time it will be a UK manual TT and I will not be using it in the winter at all. So everyone please,please,please be careful out there at the moment. Black Ice will ruin your day!

All sorted now thanks to legrath. The vacuum pipe had perished so I replaced it with a length of silicon tubing I had spare from my aquarium. Gauge is now back to normal.

Just had a look mate and there is a tube next to the fusebox that isn't connected to anything! Is this the one you mean or is it a breather pipe??? I also found that the entire assembly behind the fuse box isn't bolted down! I don't know if the garage that did the alarm or not have done this and forgotten to reattach it :mad:

Not sure about your gauge but the jspec stock gauge reads from -14 to +14 psi. When you switch on the gauge jumps to 0 (middle) then when the engine starts it drops to around a couple of notches from -14. But I'm sure that someone who knows much more about it than I do will come along soon.

I think you've just described 99.9% of all forums on the web. Personally, I'm very much a newbie when it comes to the zed, so would put myself in the "asking for advice" section, but I will give advice if i've got it. The problems arise when you get people that don't know what they're talking about giving out advice! lol I think we've all suffered from that..

The only reason the R8 was made was because Nicky Clark didn't want a cheap old common TT! So he commissioned Audi to make him a superhairdresserscar! The rest is history :tongue:

My (oem) boost gauge is playing up :mad: When I switch the car on the gauge goes up to one notch above 0. But when I start and drive the car the gauge doesn't move at all :confused:. Switch off and it returns to -14. The turbos seem to be working and boosting as normal. I had a local auto electrics firm remove my old alarm yesterday and the gauge was working fine when I took it to them. Could they have just knocked a wire or connector off? The car's going back to them tomorrow for investigation. Does it sound like a broken connection? I'm hoping so 'cos at the moment it's one thing after another :headvswal Cheers for any advice as usual. Dave

All my plastics and mouldings are well faded and need a touch up. Can anyone recommend a paint type and colour? I've got a rattle can of black plasticoat but it's a bit to glossy.

All I got with the car was the key fob :( No manual or jiffy bag unfortunately.

Thanks for that mate. There was a number on the key fob but like a tool I didn't make a note of it. I can remember 2 of them so I'll see if I can crack the rest.

tbh, it looks like they've just nicked it!

I lost the key fob for my zed on saturday and i've spent the past three days trying to find the bugger! Anyway, tomorrow I've got to drive it to a local auto electrics place with the alarm and indicators going off all the time! Give them £65 to rip out the alarm and another £200 to get a toad cat1 fitted! And I bet the fob turns up as soon as I get home. lol..

could a piece break off in the atmosphere and land on the X factor studio?? That would be nice.

This sort of thing makes me so angry! Can't abide animal cruelty.
